Very interesting film. Was caught on the premise when seeing the trailer but unsure as to what the outcome would be for the showing. As it turns out, it was a very good film.

This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.

Mostly, the movie is committed to the value of a good time.

Lars And The Real GirlThere have been quite a few features like such, that pitched similar concept to it and has touched viewer's heart through their non-human but equally up beating characters and this is one of them. The writing is gripping if not smart, keeping the audience engaged through its pragmatic characters that is fueled by the emotions running among them on screen and the makers being aware of it pampers the audience throughout the course of it. It is short on technical terms like sound department but is immensely pleasing on the way it is shot; the camera work is stunning, and so is costume design. Nancy Oliver's emotionally driven script is not only supported but celebrated by Craig Gillespie; the director, whose brilliant execution skills up the ante of the game. Ryan Gosling is the real game changer of the feature as it pulsates his skills on a much larger scale and flaunts it shamelessly and sweeps away most of the charm where he is supported decently by a hungry cast (Emily Mortimer and Paul Schneider) whose work is appreciative in here. Lars And The Real Girl is an authentic and heartbreaking relationship of humans surviving in a society where the softer and sweeter aspects of it is explored and encouraged in here.

A delusional young man strikes up an unconventional relationship with a doll he finds on the Internet. Lars and the Real Girl is a weird love story and yet somehow it's so sweet, dramatic and even inspiring at times because it felt real. Ryan Gosling deserved an Oscar for his perfomance, each scene he is in he steals it he is just incredible, Emily Mortimer and Paul Schneider are also great. This is a film that lot of people won't understand that will hate it and turn it off but for those who want to see something great, something unique and beautiful go and rent it or even better? Buy it!!!

Actually, I have to say that the sounds effect, the cinematography and also the editing is not extremely great, but the plot and the actors & actress are really really good, especially the sister-in-law of the main character. I really love the scene in which that sister-in-law yell at Lars and told him how everybody cares about him. It's really emotional and touches our heart. Some.. oh no, all the characters in this movie is so damn cute which makes it.. unreal. It seems like all the best people in the world get around Lars.. In general, I really love the plot! Such a nice plot which we could hardly guess the ending. The movie has many funny scenes which also makes us thinking a lot.

I have been watching Ryan Gosling's movies since he worked in the Notebook and quite frankly, I have to admit that the guy can do it all. He can play a nice guy as well as a Jewish skinhead, a lady killer, a cool driver, and in every movie he looks credible and spot on. in Lars and the real girl, he plays a man in his mid twenties who is extremely shy. One day, to every one surprise, he appears to his brother's house with his girlfriend who is none other than a doll he bought over the internet. Seeing that he seems to act so naturally with his new "girlfriend", everyone around play along with it and accept this strange girlfriend as someone extra in the family and friend circle. Quite an original movie, which is rare to find. Not the best by any means but well worth a watch. For Gosling's acting or simply for being to make a movie that doesn't look or tries to copy any other one out there!
