Who payed the critics

A film of deceptively outspoken contemporary relevance, this is cinema at its most alert, alarming and alive.

If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.

Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.

Now when I say "teenage 'Blow (2001)'" I don't mean as it's juvenile and adults won't find anything of value here, quite the opposite actually. The movie feels very adult, plenty of swearwords and nudity and such and a typical Scorcese like voice-over (without ever feeling cheesy or unnatural) and a good story and competent acting.Jonathan Daniel Brown is very good in the lead but my favorite performance comes from Aaron Yoo as a menacing rival of his.The only 'bad thing' I can say is that, it could have dug deeper into the characters; the female characters are all pretty empty and most are only there for eye-candy and the movie is low budget and it shows and feels like it was shot in a couple weeks at the most.Comparing it to 'Blow (2001)' might get your hopes a little too high I know realise, it doesn't have the feeling of a epic trials and tribulations of a drug kingpin which that had but I mean it's definitely above average when it comes to these sorts of movies. And it most definitely entertains from start to finish with plenty of humor to go with the based on a true story.7.5/10, a stellar recommendation.

Theme about the youngsters are always soaring with high commercial elements with lots of comedy that hardly brings any smile on us. This was one of the teen movie based on the true story of the two friends which is mostly uninspiring, but a well told story. The young actor from one of my favorite teen movie 'Project X' was incredibly good. He's really showing some characters that he may become a valuable property in the Hollywood in the near future. He also reminds me a crossover outcome of Seth Rogen and Jonah Hill.Well the story was about two school dropouts who decide to do business on marijuana import-export. Since it is not illegal in the nearby place to their's across the border, they draw a master plan to execute and succeeds and what comes later is you've to see. Actually, one of a better movie told from the negative side of the social welfare. So good to enjoy the film, but not to follow it.

I found this movie to be surprisingly good! I'm usually not one for stoner movies, and I didn't take it seriously at first, because the title of the movie, along with the poster, it just looked like a typical dumb stoner movie, but after seeing the trailer many months back, and Netflix had just added it to their Instant Streaming, so I decided to watch it. I'm surprised how good of a movie it actually was, and even more surprised on the couple of big named actors they got in the movie! The 2 big named actors in the movie, I'm fans of them and shows they stared in (John C. McGinley - Scrubs, and Ron Perlman - Sons of Anarchy), so maybe I'm being a little biased on their part. Even the not so big named actors were pretty good in the movie as well. It's based on a true story, and the story can be quite realistic during the time it took place in. (2005-2006) It's listed as a comedy, and a drama, although it had a few funny parts, I think this is another reason why people won't take it seriously, and just think it's a typical stoner movie. This film did take part in some clichés and stereotypes, like all the partying, sex/nudity (Which I don't mind), it was still a great film, and since it was based on a true story, who knows, maybe that stuff actually did happen.I give this film an 8/10, and would recommend you watch this movie, if you have Netflix, it was just added, so you can watch it there!

I didn't expect much from this film, but I was surprised. It was funny and the story was good for a drug run film based on a true story. I liked the lead actors lethargic style, it suited the character. It's not up with the best "drug runner" films but it's more comedic and that it's based on a true story is even more hilarious. There are a lot worse movies out there. This is a good yarn and funny. You will not be bored and it's well directed.Spoiler Alert:I like that he's a stand up guy.Quote I love best from the movie: "It's only Pot".
