Justice League: War Audience Reviews

Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
Ensofter Overrated and overhyped
Matialth Good concept, poorly executed.
Ginger Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
NDbportmanfan After watching this I didn't feel as though I watched a Justice League movie. This turned out to be a bunch of smug jerks that didn't want to be a part of a team. Now I expect this from some of the members notably Hal Jordan, Billy Batson and Barry Allen but not from Superman and Wonder Woman. Superman and Wonder Woman are supposed to be stoic warriors that do what is right. I am all for taking a new take on a character but this one didn't make sense to me. There is also little character development that goes on during the course of the movie, or for that matter any real lesson learned by the heroes. The entire movie is basically all action. The movie reminds me of the alien attack in The Avengers movie but just the attack no real background to the characters. There are also a few unresolved plot points that kind of frustrated me, as I was wondering how they were going to explain that but instead the credits roll. The only thing that I can say is really good about the movie is the banter between Hal and Bruce as they probably had the best scenes. I don't think this is by any means a must watch movie but it does feature Darkseid. If you want to see him in a movie before his eventual appearance in the DC Cinematic Universe then check this out.
ajinkyamaurya This movie was written in mind with the evolving audience. The plot was solid considering the immense task they had of depicting the origin unification story of JL plus the origin of Cyborg. It is very light and fairly comic at times. Sure some stuff was left unexplained but it hardly mattered so much anyways as to curb on that precious time constraint. Darkseid was a bully yes but he did have a course in mind. Total colonization of Earth! Wonder Woman was simply adorable. Shazam was boisterous indeed for an adolescent. ( Shouldn't he technically be a part of Teen Titans?) Flash was given justice for his part. Superman was..well...Superman! Batman was not exaggerated at all you never know what kind of modifications he has made to his suit. Green Lantern was motivating enough to get the job done by all the rest of the hot headed heroes and finally Cyborg is promising. And I am eager to meet with him again. Overall great characterization. A very justified plot. Scope for a sequel and amazing design and visuals. Tired of typing..I'll just watch the movie again!
KineticSeoul So this is an animated movie based on the "NEW 52" DC series that is going on. And I gotta say this movie does kick a lot of ass. There isn't a lot of meat when it comes to the action and character development. But most of the heroes in this movie is well known and a lot of people probably already know their origin stories. So yeah, all the superheroes have their own personality but if it's development your looking for...Well it falls short in that department. Even when it comes to the actual plot, a lot of things are left unexplained. This animated movie seemed like what a mainstream live action Justice League would be like within the hour and 30 minutes margin. My only gripe is the the superheroes portrayed in this movie lacked that heroic spirit, in another words. They are mostly cocky and prideful, but seem to lack integrity and wisdom. Like superman for instance, he is portrayed as this muscle headed jock that just wants to show off his strength. Maybe they wanted to bring out the Golden Age Superman. The movie also takes on a more adult tone to it not mature but more adult, but not to the point where it would effect kids. Justice League: War has cool artwork going for it and despite it's flaws, it's still a pretty entertaining flick.7.4/10
nkl6564 'Justice League: War' is based on the best selling comic book story arc: 'Justice League: Origin'. It's a tale that feels like a big summer movie in comic form, so it seems only natural that it would be the basis for its own animated release. While some may judge 'War' on the basis of its straight to video release, the story stands up pretty darn well despite its budgetary constraints. The film centers around the major players like Batman, Green Lantern, Wonder Woman, Flash, and Superman, but it also incorporates two lesser known characters with Cyborg and Shazam in the battle against Darkseid; however, by the end the whole group feels like a cohesive team. The film really shines in the genuinely funny interplay between the characters and a real sense that each member feels useful in the apocalyptic situation they find themselves in. Certain characters who need no introduction are thrown right into the action while others who need a bit of back story are given the right amount of an origin story. The action is superb, and it's pretty obvious that most of the animation budget went towards it. Wonder Woman slices enemies up in fitting Amazonian fashion, Green Lantern's otherworldly constructs are spectacular and fluid, Superman's immense strength is in full force, Cyborg's constant morphing looks awesome, and Flash's super speed is used in some fantastically innovative ways. The only character who lacks the same kind of punch is Shazam who spends quite a lot of the movie throwing lightning bolts at enemies to little effect. In fact, Shazam is the weakest part of the film with very little to do until the end of the film. This is likely a result of him taking Aquaman's place from the comic's story line. Where Aquaman was very deliberately placed to do specific things in the original story, Shazam feels like a placeholder character, a shame since his origin is ripe for a DC Animated film all its own. Speaking of which, Shazam could have benefited from some more background in the final cut of the film but doesn't get it. It wouldn't be necessary to compare the film to the comic in this way if Shazam had felt like a meaningful addition to the lineup, but as it is, he seems to only be here because someone on the creative side of the film thought Aquaman too unmarketable. Still, the film isn't ruined by the appearance of one character in favor of another; this is a Justice League movie after all, and it excels at being a great popcorn flick for the home video market. DC Animation continues to knock these releases out of the park or at least get a solid base hit.
