Justice League: The New Frontier (2008) is animated DC film that I have really enjoy it and I think it is a bit underrated! I watched 4 Justice League animated films, three are awesome and one sucked! But The New Frontier is one of the DC animated super hero films that I really enjoy and it is my second favorite animated film in the Justice League. I hate Zack Snyder's Man of Steel and Batman V. Superman: Dawn of Justice so I decide to watch some of the DC animated movies including Justice League and The New Frontier was the first animated film of the Justice League I saw and I like it a lot. This is the film that I think is pretty good, but a bit underrated.There s a problem with the film but it doesn't bother me but the problem is a lot of super heroes have less screen time in here, Mr. Shazam is not in here at all, there is no Supergirl in here, Robin is about 20 seconds in here, Green Arrow is in the film in the blink of the eye and a lot of this super heroes are not in that much. We do have a little bit of Batman, The Flash, Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman. I have enjoy the film.The film takes in the 50's, pretty much after Korean war, out of the world exist this been called The Centre which is voiced by Keith David, that is going to destroy all human life on earth and super heroes have to join forces together while the government is hunting them, so now all have to join the forces together to stop the deadly menace in planet Earth. This is in the mist of communism, McCarthyism and you have tension of or you a commie or are you American, so forth, but we all have to get together, who cares about the uniforms that kind of type of the film. What really helps this film is a voice cast, this voice cast is excellent! You have the origin story of Hal Jordan who is the cast form David Boreanaz the guy from TV shows Buffy, The Vampire Slayer, Angel, Valentine horror film and Bones TV Show who is a pilot in here, he really does a good job as Hal Jordan! This film is definitely a PG-13 you definitely can tell, after the Korean War, he is with his buddy pilot, his buddy is voiced by John Heard from Home Alone it is his buddy. Hal Jordan is a guy who doesn't want to kill anyone, he doesn't shoot, he maneuvers the airplane down, knocks a an Korean Soldier down and this guy try's to kill him with a knife and Hal Jordan has to put the gun in front the guy's head and shoot's the guy in the head, you see blood and the blood falls on his face, the next time you see him you get the idea because of an incident he was in the hospital, now he is back home with his friend, voiced by John Heard.The film is too short but they put a lot of stuff in it, they have the origin of the Green Lantern, how Hal Jordan becomes Green lantern, they have the origin of Martian Manhunter, you got a little origin from this guy who was just looking for a signal from Mars, now he is this Martian who stranded on our planet, and for awhile he doesn't look like Martian Manhunter, you see bits of him, he is in the apartment watching TV and he morphs in to Groucho Marx, than he actually morphs in to Bugs Bunny and drinking a bottle as watching TV and than he sees this TV show on and he morphs in to a character who calls him self Jones. Martian Manhunter is voiced by Miguel Ferrer I absolutely love the actor he was in RoboCop (1987), DeepStar Six and Crossing Jordan he actually played in a lot of movies.I think the voice cast was excellent choice and the film it has a lot of action, seen this the first time I really had fun with the flick and I like it. The only problem with the flick I do have is Superman's costume that looks a little weird, but the story is set in the 50's so it is great. This was one of the worst comic based cartoons or animated features that I have ever had the displeasure of watching. It was as if the hack of a writer knew little of the characters and had even less interest in them, and worked by ticking off marks on a checklist for plot points. This uninspired dreck has the Superman problem solved by this blob monster smacking Supes so hard he is knocked off of the storyboard very early, and he does not return until very late."See? We get Supes out of the way here-real quick- then the others will have something to do here!" How convenient that a being so powerful can't manage to knock any other hero out of the storyline. The tentacled mess of a villain mostly hovers around, flailing about as if waiting for these 1 dimensional heroes to finally do something- anything. It almost actually goes somewhere, or looks as if something is really going to happen once or twice, only to go right back to that weak but monumentally important formulaic checklist in their battle of one of the stupidest menaces ever contrived. Justice League/Unlimited=10. This lame, uninspired disappointment gets a 1.
