Payno I think this is a new genre that they're all sort of working their way through it and haven't got all the kinks worked out yet but it's a genre that works for me.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Sarita Rafferty There are moments that feel comical, some horrific, and some downright inspiring but the tonal shifts hardly matter as the end results come to a film that's perfect for this time.
Cody One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.
jenzjewelz-1 I loved the movie- it's the kind you keep thinking about even after the credits roll. I feel like the naysayers fall into 1 of 2 categories: 1. They're know-it-alls - just because the characters didn't make the choices you wanted them to do, doesn't make it a bad movie- if that's what you're after, go play The Sims! 2. They're people who don't agree with the premise of the movie, but it's based on a true story, so if you want to tell your own story... start writing the script to your own movie!I may be a bit bitter, but some of the reviews with low ratings on IMDB may have caused me to miss out in this wonderful film!
pstueber Based on a true story. Scenery so authentic! The jungle and the river rapids vivid and real. I Thought Radcliffe performance was as authentic as it gets for someone truly lost in a jungle. A great performance. This movie stayed with me the next day. It's one way I rate a good movie. I was impacted By the survival instincts of humankind. I especially liked the performance of Radcliffe when he started the hallucinations and the desire to let go. The cinematography deserves an Oscar. Awards to Radcliffe!
yasiru1991 This is one of the worst films I have watched. If there was no real life story attached to it I would have rate this more lower. I just simply say just go and watch "Cast Away'. It is a very similar story but look at the way the story was building in Cast Away., I must say you can see the two different acting leagues Tom Hanks and Daniel Radcliffe are in as well. Here the story was too predictable and acting was also not very exciting to keep the viewers taste bud tingling. Hence they will happily skip some part and watch it again without any hesitancy. Every move, every action is predictable and viewers have seen thousands of this kinda genre movies. So if its predictable as this is, there is no interest in viewers to engage with the film as they already have had the taste before from some other movie. So you need to spice up the film with so much unexpected events and cinematography. Nothing is there in the this film. Daniel radcliffe might have make the film bit more interesting if his solo moments of acting was made brilliant. But apparently its no where near the limit of capturing the entire attention of a wavered mind.
lidija-21338 Based on real events, this is a story about three young backpackers in the Amazon jungles of Bolivia who, in the early eighties, naive and hungry for adventure, fall prey to a fraudulent guide. The movie is quite predictable, but it is still nice to watch, partly because it remains realistic (with no unbelievable or extreme scenes or exaggerations), and partly because of the beautiful scenery and laid back atmosphere of the hippie communes shown in the movie (you are likely to think yourself of taking a gap year and taking off to South America). The acting is decent and unpretentious; the movie predominantly focuses on the perspective of one of the travelers, Yossi. The ending is not overly dramatic, and has a nice humane touch.
