Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de)
"Italienischer Bauerntanz" or "Bauerntanz zweier Kinder" is a 35-second short film from over 120 years ago. As this one was made in 1895, it should not be a surprise to anybody that it is a black-and-white silent film. It was done by the Brothers Skladanowsky, the first filmmakers from Germany and it shows us a boy and girl dancing enthusiastically. It is a bit contagious, therefore I was generous with my rating. The kids' names are Ploetz and Larella apparently. This very short film is part of the Skladanowsky film collection named "Wintergartenprogramm" and the first film depicted in there, so it may very well be their first work ever. All in all, worth checking out for fans of the silent days, but everybody else can skip it.
