A Major Disappointment

Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.

There is definitely an excellent idea hidden in the background of the film. Unfortunately, it's difficult to find it.

Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.

Don't know why America is so hung up on sex
Acting prudish when sexualy hiding so much
Heck I would sleep with him for a million dollars no problem and I am a married man.
Obviously I'm European .

Indecent Proposal (1993) is not a great movie, but I think it deserves a 6. Demi Moore looks amazing in the movie, thanks goes the hair and makeup I suppose, and the costume designer. There's more to Demi than her looks though, her acting is good and she nails every scene with her intensity. Robert Redford was the perfect choice for his character, he really did fill it well. The plot requires intense and meaningful performances by all actors involved. Woody Harrelson is here too, playing David, Demi's husband of 7 years. He does well, not like academy award winning standard, but certainly not Razzie award winning. Now I just don't understand how the Razzie awards zeroed in on this film, I mean come on, get real. This movie certainly was NOT the worst picture of the year. No, it was not great. It did have time of boredom and some lazy sounding dialouge, and yes, I took off points for those things, but then you have to look at the movie overall, and overall, it is not bad. 6/10 for indecent proposal.

How can people give a low rating to this movie!! It's engaging, it's interesting and it's moving! If you like romantic movies, you will love this one!I give it 9 stars as its one of those movies that I won't forget. It's not a silly romantic movie, on the contrary. It's about love, marriage, jealousy and fidelity. Definitely a favorite for the romantic souls. Demi more gave a beautiful performance. Well done! It's starts with humor and lightness and then the plot starts with an interesting twist.

The plot of this movie is fairly simple. Would you let your wife/husband spend the night with a stranger for a million dollars? I am surprised that the rating for this movie is so low. I thought the acting was good, I really got a sense that David Murphy (Woody Harrelson) and Diana Murphy (Demi Moore) were actually in love. I thought that the chemistry between Woody and Demi was extraordinary. The one complaint that I have for this movie was the way that John Gage (Robert Redford) would try and make it a point that money is everything. Robert did however, do a great job at portraying a millionaire. I do wish that would have went into more detail about the night that David and Diana earned their big paycheck. Was the night just strictly physical or did they both share something meaningful. Overall, I thought that the movie was excellent and well written.
