Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

When this movie was released on DVD, I was tempted to pay the new rental price to see it, but I ultimately decided not to. The other day I found it available to rent for just a dollar, so I decided to see it. Boy, am I glad I didn't pay full price to see this. I'd be even happier if I had rented another movie for that dollar. For starters, the movie has inconsistent production values, with some scenes looking slick and expensive but other scenes looking downright cheap. Next, Randy Couture is pretty underwhelming in the lead role, lacking charisma as well as emotion when his character speaks. The movie is poorly paced; after the (lame) opening action sequence, it takes more than a half hour before we start getting action again. And none of the action in the movie gets above the routine. There is one bright spot in the movie, and that is Dominic Purcell as the bodyguard. He manages to take his role and make his character pretty interesting. If he had been cast in the lead role, chances are the movie would be significantly better.

Randy Coutre is Passenger 57 with an executive decision when his fiancée is on a plane that has been threatened for some silly reason. He's already fed up though because Vinnie Jones has been killed and something is a little fishy about Craig Fairbrass, because he hangs around with his sister and does nothing but wear his suit and look old...To say this film gave me Deja Vu is an understatement, but its not all that bad. Coutre is going to be a good direct to DVD action star and nothing else, but he does have his limits, but he is a good screen presence, compared to Stone Cold movies, these are high art.The film is littered with D-list stars, Jones is in it for all of five minutes, but does a good job, Fairbrass does very little, but if your from the UK you will always find him entertaining.Purcell has a moustache and looks light years away from Blade: Trinity, but is good, and then there is that one from Jeepers Creepers, and she sucks the life out of every single scene she is in, she's really that bad, and wow, she looks really old.All in all, its throwaway stuff, nothing really exciting or groundbreaking, but its fun in a really dodgy, bad way.

The main reason I watched this film was because Randy Couture is in it, he was in "The Expendables 1 and 2". To me, "Expendables 2" was the best action film of 2012. Well, "Hijacked" is possibly among the worst of 2012. Now granted, Couture only played a small role in The Expendables and here he is the leading star. He proves one thing: he can't act at all. We already kind of knew that from the flawed "Scorpion King" sequel. But he is not the only "star" of this film. We also have Vinnie Jones. His part is kind of limited since he's killed in the first 10 minutes. Then we have Dominic Purcell (Prison Break) with an awful "Magnum" mustache. His performance is also one he now desperately tries to forget. On with the story: predictable, lacks any form of tension or thrills. Does not make any sense most of the time. When it comes to action you simply have to laugh when you see the limited fight scenes that are badly choreographed. So what's left ? Beats me, I just can't understand why cheap garbage like this is still produced. Avoid at all costs..

All special agent Paul Ross (Randy Coulture) wants to do is to win back his ex-fiancé, but his plans are sadly thrawrted when his love is on a mammoth plane that's been hijacked (hence the genius name of this film) by terrorists, which makes his day that much worse as he had been suspended earlier that day. While not nearly as bad as some of the reviews that I've read, it's not a particularly good film either. The action scenes are all right, it's just that it's plot is devoid of any originality and is hopelessly derivative which draws comparisons to similar terrorists on a plane films that this movie can't help but not fair well to. The acting is also not one of its stronger.points. All said, the movie while watchable is a bit forgettable.Eye Candy: Marla Malcolm gets toplessMy Grade; C
