Excellent but underrated film

Best movie ever!

Just intense enough to provide a much-needed diversion, just lightweight enough to make you forget about it soon after it’s over. It’s not exactly “good,” per se, but it does what it sets out to do in terms of putting us on edge, which makes it … successful?

All of these films share one commonality, that being a kind of emotional center that humanizes a cast of monsters.

Legendary lawman and gunslinger, Wild Bill Hickok, is tasked with taming the wildest cow-town in the west. While delivering his own brand of frontier justice, the infamous gunfighter's reputation as the fastest draw in the west is put to the test. Chris Hemsworth is main star league, Liam Hemsworth? he is more of a secondary league but Luke Hemsworth? Is probably no league. This movie had no charisma, nothing was going on and why in the hell were Kris Kristofferson and Bruce Dern in here? Oh i know why because the paycheck was probably good. (F)

Take a shot every time you hear the line "I'll put a bullet in ya," or, "You sonuva bitch."Cliche lines and choppy writing leave a disjointed story that provides little entertainment. I found myself actually laughing out loud at several points throughout the film. I am literally in awe of how bad this movie was. Writers seem to be pulling lines out of some sort of machine that spits out western tag lines and hoping that delivery from someone like Kristofferson will help. Poor sound effects and a score that came off of iTunes does nothing to help this already subpar film. Nothing, absolutely nothing was done well. Two stars because you made me laugh.

Sadly the western is no more if the last few efforts are to be judged by.This film conclusively proves that none of the Hemsworth clan can act. It also proves that you don't really need acting talent to get into the movies these days, just a pretty boy face, six pack and some muscles, a relative in the industry or doing a Harvie Weinstein manoeuvre!Boring formulaic story that's been done to death. Main character who couldn't act his way out of a paper bag. No persona , no true grit , no tough cowboy just another Hemsworth pretty boy in a hat. The bad guy who was as mean and scary as Pee Wee Herman. The days of the good ole cowboy movie seem to be over - No more Magnificent Seven, no more Pale Riders just pretty boys who give nothing to the genre - It seems the last of the great real cowboys was indeed Clint Eastwood as none have matched his performance in any way. From the awful Colin Farrell in the dire remake of THE BEGUILED to the tragic remake of one of the best western ever THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN - It seems even a remake of the WILD BUNCH is in the offing - Oh dear is all I can say even old old movies like SHADOW OF CHIKARA beat this dull attempt at a Wild Bill Hickock story line. This is like a mid week afternoon made for TV movie - they might as well have chucked in Fernando Lamas and Jane Seymour!

The movie starts with the Confederate army using a gatling gun and goes downhill from there. A few union commanders used their own money to purchase 12 of these guns. The US Army didn't officially buy any until 1866. The Confederates never had any. Then there's the problem with John Wesley Hardin. First of all, his alias was Wesley Clemmons, but the movie implies it was the other way around. And second, Hardin was never Hickok's deputy. Finally, the climatic battle between the villain and the hero. It happened on the street not in the saloon and only Poe was killed, except for a real deputy that Hickok shot on accident. I usually try to give Hollywood some leeway when it comes to historical accuracy, but this is just too much.
