A Disappointing Continuation
Quiet Muffin
This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

This is one of the best movies I’ve seen in a very long time. You have to go and see this on the big screen.

well by "so-so" i mean the film is only half good. You may watch it, but don't go in with a high expectation. The first half of the movie is disastrous. If you can somehow survive the first half you may enjoy the rest. The acting has been poor throughout the film. The love making scene of the first half was nothing less than comedy although there were some good intimate love making scene in the second half. overall a very strong subject, somewhat out of the box, but rather poorly executed. This is the very first time boolywood managed to present something different bold yet very realistic topic. I felt with a better star cast the film could have been much better. Paouli Dam did a descent job although she still needs some acting lessons. To sum it up, i would say, its watchable but definitely not a must watch.

Saw an excellent movie after a long time. Great performances by all the actors, however Gulshan is the best and 2nd is Paoli Dam.The film holds you from beginning to end and twists and turns make it worth watching.Good work from the crew. Fine tuned screenplay. The dialogues are well written and timing is good.Although not meant for young children, this is a great revenge story, wherein you hate all the characters by the end and that is the success of the movie. This is my shortest review on IMDb as this movie doesn't need words, see it to experience it. I'm sure you won't regret.

Hindi Film reviewJohnson ThomasOld-fashioned titillation Film: Hate StoryCast: Paoli Dham, Joy SenGupta, Mohan Kapoor, Gushan Devaiya, Nikhil Dwivedi, Saurabh Dubey, Iravati Harshey,Bhairavi Goswami, Gopal SinghDirector: Vivek AgnihotriRating: * * out of 5From love to vengeance and brutality, this Vikram Bhatt offering directed by former TV serial specialist Vivek Agnihotri, starring seasoned Bengali actress Paoli Dham, in the pivotal role, is sort of eye candy for those who get their thrills from conspicuously plotted eroticism. Kaavya(Paoli Dham), a middle class girl who works as a journalist ends up as a sex-worker plotting revenge on her exploiters. As the tag line insinuates, she uses her body as her weapon of revenge. Kaavya's main target is Siddharth (Gulshan Devaiah) and all his associates . Hard to believe that in the post millennium era our filmmakers are still churning out such a trite, unconceivable vendetta story that eventually ends-up glorifies the oldest profession in the book. It's a crude film masquerading as an erotic thriller. There are plenty of scenes designed to titillate the viewer and the gamey plot is specially structured to tease the senses. The overt sexual posturing, exploitative content and highly crude language may act as a magnet for the depraved. The incredible lengths to which the protagonist goes to seek revenge have to be seen to be believed. The plotting is in fact not in the least credible or believable. But Vivek Agnihotri's narrative style allows for some much needed visual appeal. Attar Singh Saini's camera-work aids the cat and mouse plotting quite vicariously. Rohit Malhotra's spiky dialogues lends added vitriol to the vengeance scheming. The background score, as is wont for such a venture, works hard to electrify the proceedings. Paoli asserts her strong presence and so does Gulshan, Joy Sen Gupta, Mohan Kapoor and Nikhil Dwivedi. But even so, the credibility and conviction appears suspect. The story is reminiscent of the Icchadhari Nagin staple that bollywood churns out every other decade. The sense of incredulity that takes root with Kaavya's first foray into vengeance only increases with every subsequent hit. So in effect, this film really flatters to deceive!Johnsont307@gmail.com

This movie is strong, good script, great casting, excellent acting, and over the top directing. Even if the viewer does not like revenge type of movies, he or she will watch the entire film, the audiences is glued to what will happen next as the film progresses. Its about, loyalty, greed, relationships, and real life. This is a great mix, and the artistic style make the film memorable. The film-making is excellent and very suspenseful at times. Its great if you actually listen and pay attention because the whole time they are building up to the end.It is the most fantastic ending I've seen but watch the movie.Hate Story, for me is more than a movie! Any film that can be watched 250 odd times and still enthrall has to go down as one of the best. Intense, operatic, melodramatic, overblown and frankly insane! More than any other film, it builds momentum from scene to scene, chugging forward from a slow start to climax with perhaps the most memorable ending in Indian cinema history.
