This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.

The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful

Worth seeing just to witness how winsome it is.

This short once again sees the talking magpies Heckle and Jeckle trying to outsmart Dimwit the dog. Here they are helping themselves to the farm's apples and he is trying to stop them. As expected they routinely outsmart him; at one point tricking him into fighting with a scarecrow then accusing him of murder when its head falls off! After numerous attempts to stop then Dimwit finally admits defeat and helps them load their wheelbarrow with food and even his doghouse; for this they reward him with a big cake with a stick of dynamite for a candle! Fans of the two anarchic magpies should love this; the story is much the same as ever but there are some great gags; I particularly liked the whole scarecrow sequence. I suspect the creators must have started to thing Heckle and Jeckle got away with too much as here they ultimately end up suffering for their cruelty. Sid Raymond does a fine job providing the voices; I like how Heckle and Jeckle sound less cartoony than most animated characters.
