Get Out Audience Reviews

Dirtylogy It's funny, it's tense, it features two great performances from two actors and the director expertly creates a web of odd tension where you actually don't know what is happening for the majority of the run time.
Yash Wade Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
Juana what a terribly boring film. I'm sorry but this is absolutely not deserving of best picture and will be forgotten quickly. Entertaining and engaging cinema? No. Nothing performances with flat faces and mistaking silence for subtlety.
Catherina If you're interested in the topic at hand, you should just watch it and judge yourself because the reviews have gone very biased by people that didn't even watch it and just hate (or love) the creator. I liked it, it was well written, narrated, and directed and it was about a topic that interests me.
Horst in Translation (filmreviews@web.de) "Get Out" is a French animated short movie that runs for slightly under 8 minutes. This one came out in 2009, so two more years and it will have its 10th anniversary. It is in French, so make sure you get subtitles if you aren't fluent in the language. It is pretty impressive that no less than five directors worked on it given the runtime. 3 of these have never worked before or afterward on another film, while 2 have actually been really prolific and also worked on several Hollywood blockbusters like "Inception". But this little movie we have here is luckily no example of too many cooks spoiling the broth. This is the story of a phobic patient in an isolation room and the doctor who tries it his best to get him out. It is not really clear for a long time if the doctor is a good or bad guy, especially looking at his grisly aides. I think the best parts here were when we are taken into the patient's world and see it the way he sees it. Can't blame him for wanting to stay, can we? It is especially interesting and almost educational when we see the doctor act as if he sees all these things too, the aquarium scene was pretty funny. And then the ending, it offers a major plot twist, even if the doctor stays a doctor. I think there may be indicators to expect the outcome if you see watch this movie knowing about the ending, but I personally did not expect it at all. So yeah, as I wrote in the title, the early and middle parts were a good watch, but the ending lifts it up even further. One of my favorite (animated) short films from 2009. Highly recommended and it's really disappointing to see that this little gem did not receive any awards attention at all according to IMDb. Watch it and you will agree.
