n my opinion it was a great movie with some interesting elements, even though having some plot holes and the ending probably was just too messy and crammed together, but still fun to watch and not your casual movie that is similar to all other ones.

Off course Fuscão Preto (Big Black Volskwagen Beetle) is neither a top film, nor a conventional one, but it worth attention. Released in the same year of "Christine", it also depicts a live frightening car (not a lovely one such as Herbie). Though, instead of killing people, the big black beetle behaves improperly because he has a crush on Diana (perhaps the character's name was inspired in the British princess, as they look similar and the royal wedding happened just two years before). Diana is also seduced by the car, but there is another guy interested on her: no, not her fiancé, but the horse tamer. Therefore, there is a weird love triangle, and the man with whom she is engaged with is not a victim - indeed, he is engaged with Diana only because of money and has another lover. Then, in spite of some bad acting and camera, the movie gets better after some time developing this bizarre "love pentagon". The film mixes different genres, such as B horror, romance drama, campy comedy (Zé Coqueiro is silly but funny), and action thriller. It is also important to mention that the actress in the leading role (acting badly, as her trademark) is Xuxa Meneghel, in her second feature-length film. Since her other movie from that year, she began to work only in child films and TV shows, and became very famous. After some time, uncomfortable with her sex appeal in the beginning of her career, she made everything to avoid people from watching her two first films: this "Fuscão preto" and the best of them, "Amor, estranho amor" ("Love Strange Love"), where she has sex with a young teenager. Both became very rare, and that is a shame, as they are, for sure, the best movies from her entire career.
