Frankenhood Audience Reviews

Titreenp SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
Bessie Smyth Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Rosie Searle It's the kind of movie you'll want to see a second time with someone who hasn't seen it yet, to remember what it was like to watch it for the first time.
reaseltbim The movie had some funny jokes and I liked the Character of Frakie a lot, He was the best thing about it. The movie did the Frankenstein parody pretty well with Bob Sapp doing a great Frank impression. I loved that he played Frankie as a sweet and childish character because it worked in contrast to the "grown up" world around him. It was funny to see a childlike man dealing with adult situations like getting drunk. The plot was a little genetic but it was entertaining enough. I think all the actors did pretty good overall. I really liked Angell Conwell and Drew Sidora, they were great in this. The only problem I had with the movie was with some of the editing the basketball scenes made me a little bit dizzy. there was too much quick cuts and too much shaky camera. (Some of the club scenes were that way too) Also the story kind of gets lost near the end. The movie was good the first half, I actually loved the first half but once Frankie plays the game it lost some of the charm it had (It then becomes a regular sports movie. I kind of wish it was a little more sci Fi. but I think they could have done more with it. Either have more jokes and make it more funny or they could have added more to the plot, it feels like it is missing something.
p-stepien Two streetball hopefuls Motown (DeRay Davis) and Darius (Jasper Redd) have daytime jobs in the city morgue as assistants for wacky doctor Franklin (Charles Q. Murphy), an apparent victim of repeated viewing of Reanimator. After one of his crazed experiments he manages to awaken a corpse. Bigger than a rhino, but as clueless as the movies scriptwriter, he turns out to be a harmless and friendly undead. Given his immense posture and strength Motown and Darius decide to enlist him as their third player in an upcoming streetball tournament. The premise itself calls for a derivative comedy at best, but unfortunately the movie suffers from a inability to generate any laughs. Characterized with little to no character development and fraught with 'Scary Movie' level jokes, it is also inhabited by two very unmemorable main actors. The movie attempts to transcend its inherent weaknesses by populating the movie with some pretty 'chicks' (Drew Sidora, Angell Conwell or the stripdancing Daphne Joy) in an effort to increase the attention span of the male audience. No such luck for the other half of the population.Once again a movie which does no favours to 'black comedy'. Due to the amount of below the belt humour and high sexual content it is entertainment for a very unsophisticated crowd. The only redeeming quality I can find is Frankie played by Bob Sapp, who is extremely likable despite the absolutely appalling scripting behind his character.
nathan-yeo Basic premise for the movie: "You get some black comedians film them doing their shtick. Two down-and out comedians trying to make a dollar out of 15 cents. You throw in a get-rich gimmick. Some life danger of why they need the money, so we don't think they are just a bunch of lazy hustlers. Some hot woman every here and there. Some physical comedy so its just not the same old same old. You got this movie. As for the women, it starts off with a guy fantasizing about women in a "LIMO". Then it gets to the part of his neighbor running on a tread-mill no bras wet t-shirt. It ain't a lot but she had a lot, and I'll take it. I liked this film.
Jackpollins Franklin (Charles Q. Murphy) is a mad scientist who just created a monster. Darius and Motown (Jasper Reed and DeRay Davis) are in need of some quick cash and are planning to compete in a basketball competition that requires three players. So Darius & Motown decide to turn the monster into Frankie (Bob Sapp), and teach him how to play basketball in time for the tournament. The movie is very funny, kind of a mix of Friday and White Men Can't Jump. I liked the energy of it, and the fact that it has heart. Sapp, Reed, and Davis are all very good in their roles, especially Sapp, perfectly comically playing a Frankenstein monster. Yes, the movie never really breaks any new ground, you will not walk out shocked at how great it is, but it certainly knows how to get laughs, and also has a good amount of heart. It is never ridiculously over the top, just at times insane in plot. It's a comic trio done right, and Frankenhood proves how to make a good spoof without fart or booger jokes, or for that sake, any gross out jokes. This is why Frankenhood is an ideal comedy for that spoof lover inside all of us.
