Flight of Fury Audience Reviews

SpecialsTarget Disturbing yet enthralling
Afouotos Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.
Helllins It is both painfully honest and laugh-out-loud funny at the same time.
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
mazec666 After a long, long absence from film reviewing, I'm back and this time I'm reviewing a Steven Seagal movie. Not one of his older ones, but several of his direct-of-DVD stinkers just for kicks.Once again, Seagal plays a retired secret operative who is working not for the CIA but this time he's with the United States Air Force. Predictably, he gets called on to find a hijacked, top-secret stealth bomber before it falls in the hands of stereotypical terrorists."Flight of Fury" is far from being one of the worst films that Seagal has ever done. Despite losing some of that girth, he's absent throughout the film and to make matters worse he's mostly voice-dubbed. At least Seagal is doing his own fighting, right? Well, no. Mainly because of the dark lighting, we can't tell if it's actually him or not but never mind.To make matters worse, the film lifts footage from "Top Gun," "Iron Eagle," and "Navy SEALs." So, we have a Seagal direct-to-DVD quickie that's not only shot in Romania, but it's also a stock footage movie. Bravo. (Hands clapping) Bravo. You might also take a gander at the lesbian sex scene that would look out of place in "Mulholland Drive."
LeonLouisRicci Ever since Steven Seagal entered his "Fat Elvis" period his fans have had a lot to groan about. But the enjoyment of these direct to video, low budget, foreign made movies is dependent on, as a Seagal fan, would you rather he retire and therefore be remembered in his prime, or continue to work with results such as this? It is a conundrum. So if you are in the latter, here goes. This has a lot of stock footage of stealth aircraft and such and some hand to hand mostly shot in close ups, with some striking knife scenes. Quite a few gun battles with squibs that are not bad. Seagal again whispers his way through the thing, also using some voice-dubs but he does look a bit thinner in this one.If you are in the former category (those for retirement) this is another reason to make your case. There is only a pale remainder of his once sleek and smooth style, and the production values and talent in these DTV releases are almost always forgettable at best, and painful to watch at worst. Flight of Fury falls somewhere in the middle of this stuff, so go for it or keep your fond memories.
tmbvd3 I just watched this movie on Starz. Let me go through a few things i thought could have been improved; the acting, writing, directing, special effects, camera crew, sound, and lighting. It also seemed as though the writers had no idea anything that had to do with the movie. Apparently back in 2007, when the dollar was stronger you could buy a super advanced stealth bomber that could go completely invisible for $75 million. Now-a-days those things cost about $3 billion and they cant go invisible. Apparently you can fly from the US to the middle east in an hour. There was a completely random lesbian scene, which I didn't mind, but it seemed like a lame attempt to get more guys to see it. The camera would randomly zoom in on actors and skip to random scenes. Oh yeah, since its a Steven Segal movie, its predictable as hell. All in all I rank it right up there with Snakes on a Plane.
unbrokenmetal When a stealth bomber with the latest technical secrets is stolen, a general must get his best pilot John (Steven Seagal) out of prison to bring it back. Fortunately, the plane is meanwhile hidden in Afghanistan where you can bomb anything anytime you like without any consequences (except the occasional reviewer's sarcasm). The 60 terrorists are even polite enough to attack one after another and not all at once, so it is easier for John to kill them. Remember, this is the same guy who got effortlessly arrested by 2 cops for fighting with shoplifters earlier on. Of course the movie provides a traitor who has to be defeated in a battle up in the sky, heroes never leave a show without that. Seagal may be miscast as a pilot; he was more convincing in the good old "my fist, your face" fight movies. "Flight of Fury" would probably have been better if it had a sense of humor, but even the ridiculous "girls only" scene during the raid tries to be serious. And they couldn't even resist to include something about saving the world from a biological weapon, absolutely unnecessary in my view.
