Onlinewsma Absolutely Brilliant!
Jerrie It's a good bad... and worth a popcorn matinée. While it's easy to lament what could have been...
Yazmin Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
EVOL666 I picked up this 6 part harakiri set because it was relatively cheap and I wanted to check out a few more entries in this genre out of morbid curiosity. Needless to say - I won't be bothering with any more of these type of films unless some sort of substance is brought into them...This one (like pretty much every other...) has a girl in a costume (this time some sort of traditional Japanese robe...) who exposes her breasts, caresses her midsection for a while, then stabs herself in the stomach and SSSSLLLLLOOOOWWWWWLLLLLYYYYY pulls the ritual knife across her abdomen. She then rolls around on the floor for a while as she bleeds copiously on the floor...What I've tried to do is rate these films against other harakiri films that I've seen, and also on their "entertainment" level as a whole...As far as other harakiri films, this one is very average. No gut-pulling (which I normally add a point or so for only because it adds something else to the otherwise dull film...) and not as repulsive or harrowing as Tamakichi Anaru's WOMENS FLESH or the harakiri scene in his PSYCHO: SUICIDE DOLLS (if you read all my reviews on these harakiri films, you will see that I mention those 2 films in every review, because in my opinion they are superior examples of this type of thing and are the only other "yard-stick" I have to measure these types of films against...). Overall 5/10 in terms of rating against other harakiri films, as this one brings nothing new and isn't especially "gory". 1/10 in terms of a horror film as this won't really appeal to anyone as there is absolutely no plot, and even the gore is pretty boring...
