The causes underlying the collapse of civilizations are usually traced to overuse of resources. As we write this, the world is reeling from economic chaos, peak oil, climate change, environmental degradation, and political turmoil. Every day, the headlines re-hash stories of scandal and betrayal of the public trust. We don't have to make outraged demands for the end of the current global system - it seems to be coming apart already. But acts of courage, compassion and altruism abound, even in the most damaged places. By documenting the resilience of the people hit hardest by war and repression, and the heroism of those coming forward to confront the crisis head-on, END:CIV illuminates a way out of this all-consuming madness and into a saner future. Backed by Jensen's narrative, the film calls on us to act as if we truly love this land. The film trips along at a brisk pace, using music... Written by Franklin Lopez

END:CIV Audience Reviews

Odelecol Pretty good movie overall. First half was nothing special but it got better as it went along.
Gutsycurene Fanciful, disturbing, and wildly original, it announces the arrival of a fresh, bold voice in American cinema.
Voxitype Good films always raise compelling questions, whether the format is fiction or documentary fact.
Edwin The storyline feels a little thin and moth-eaten in parts but this sequel is plenty of fun.
A. Ali I caught up very late with this documentary but it was worth it. This is one of those documentaries that makes you think. I could not believe the references made to Greenpeace and it's administration. we always think of Greenpeace as a earth-friendly organization but the picture painted in the film is totally opposite, I tried to look up if Greenpeace has answered any of the references or commented on the code of practice mentioned in the film but did not find any. We are eating our planet alive and greed has already conquered every part of our lives. Humans needs to know NOW that there is no U-turn on the road we are headed.
eattofuordie I watched End:Civ in February at the screening in Eugene, OR. When i heard about this documentary i was really impressed by the cast and the idea to see a movie about Derrick Jensen's Endgame books. However, the overall editing and style is really annoying. The first 5 minutes look like early 90's MTV videos, with constant zooming and layer effects over interview audio. The stock footage as well as the humorous remarks, such as the Pulp Fiction scene, don't really fit to the subject at all. The interviews are good and interesting, as well as the cast. If you are really really interested you should watch this, but i'd recommend reading the books instead.
