Employee of the Month Audience Reviews

PlatinumRead Just so...so bad
Stoutor It's not great by any means, but it's a pretty good movie that didn't leave me filled with regret for investing time in it.
Marva-nova Amazing worth wacthing. So good. Biased but well made with many good points.
Yazmin Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
MovieJuice There are many bad ratings for Employee of the Month, but I beg to differ with them. Yes the plot here is very cliché and predictable, but it is how it is executed that makes this a very funny comedy. The characters are hilarious and are acted well. Perhaps the exception to this is Jessica Simpson; she just seemed too stiff and always looked like she was racking her brain for her next line. But let's face it; she is not in the movie for her acting skills wink wink. There is a great cast of comedic actors including, Dane Cook and Dax Shepard who play the main characters. They run the show with their witty and offbeat humor. The supporting cast only adds to the laughs, especially Andy Dick playing a nearly-blind optometrist. Just the way he looks in those glasses is enough to make you crack up! This type of comedy might not be for everyone as it is a bit on the raunchy side, but I found it enjoyable. Some of the scenes are over the top and a few are just downright ridiculous, but overall this is a laugh-inducing 5 star flick. I hope this review was helpful. -MovieJuiceI wrote this on Mon May 18 2009 for another site.
chris-sheerin Read some of the comments and i was PML.... so many people were like... unreal unreal unreal UN REAL! and i am just there like its a comedy what do you expect? i get most of the people on here are either stupid kids or teens who know nothing about the movie industry or how a movie is made... but know we have gone into a new era of ignorance of genre... literally i am disappointed with man kind now... fair enough if you don't find this movie funny naturally then i respect that but if you look at a movie like this which has a blatant image showing of that is going to be quirky and daft and think "hm... this looks like it could be entertaining i mean look how serious and dramatic and well laid out the movies plot is laid out" then i am sorry you are just plain stupid. a comedy is a genre of entertainment that is there to make you laugh through different variations of styles... comedies have never been about the seriousness or realism it has been based of the daftness or the shock or the unexpected actions of a character in a certain situation or to weird you out or see something in a unimaginable way... its not there to create an emotionally engaging story like titanic.. the only comedy i know that was actually an comedy not just a action or drama flick that throws one or two jokes here and there that i am aware f that has won an Oscar is Forest Gumps... i haven't seen any other comedy... proper comedy that has won a Oscar besides that movie... if we carry on as a generation ignorant of genres as well as how hard people actually make movies then i am concerned with what movies people will be able to make these days... its a wonder we have remakes or shitty drama wannabes...
dinosorensen Enjoyable even if not "super original". Just well done.Shows better development of relationships in the dating scene than most movies.Did notice one hidden thing: The store manager is Glen Gary. His brother is the owner, Glen Ross. This is a tip of the hat to the movie, "Glen Gary, Glen Ross", a realistic and great movie. Notice that the brothers share the same first name but have different last names? I'd watch it again. I liked the way they treated Jessica Simpson, as someone with intelligence. She also is portrayed as a real girl, who can forgive weaknesses and appreciates growth. This is kind of like "Columbo", the series about the detective who finds the minutest of details, foiling the best laid plans of mice and men. Like "Columbo", little things thicken beyond our control and can really mess up someone's plot.
KineticSeoul I didn't expect much from this movie, and for the most part I didn't really get much out of this movie. It isn't a terrible movie, it just isn't a good one either. Everything about this movie is just way to formulaic and narrow, where almost everything about it is predictable and not funny. The movie did have very slight moments that I slightly found myself not hating this movie entirely. There is just nothing witty about it and none of the characters really stood out, Dane Cook wasn't bad and wasn't all that good either in this. The whole thing about this movie was just...Eh. And that is about it, nothing really memorable and nothing really witty or clever either. It just feels like it took few aspects of other comedic films and mashed them together a bit in the most formulaic and narrow way possible.5/10
