Elizabeth Harvest Audience Reviews

MamaGravity good back-story, and good acting

Gurlyndrobb While it doesn't offer any answers, it both thrills and makes you think.
Patience Watson One of those movie experiences that is so good it makes you realize you've been grading everything else on a curve.
kylepop "Elizabeth Harvest" is an intricate indie thriller which does a great job at building up suspense and unease throughout. We are introduced to Elizabeth (Abbey Lee) a beautiful new bride, being taken to her new high tech home by husband Henry (Ciaran Hinds). She meets the housekeeper, uptight Claire (Carla Gugino) and the blind, flower picker Oliver (Matthew Beard). As she tours the grand home, one room in particular catches her eye to which Henry forbids her from ever entering. Shocking discoveries and dark truths are what lies past the frosted glass door, but will Elizabeth enter?Abbey Lee has had small bit parts throughout the past few years and so I was surprised at how great she was in the movie, although the British accent falters somewhat (she's Australian), she maintains our interest as the lead character. The rest of the performers are all on fine form too.Quite a few twists and revaluations happen quick and fast, and these kick off pretty quickly actually (after the first 30 minutes). Overall, I'd recommend this indie thriller.
bangel3322 They've taken a classic, haunting tale, and basically just sh*t all over it. I love the story of Bluebeard, I remember reading it when I was younger and just being in a sort of daze for a few days after, as I was mesmerised by the ending of the story. I've never seen a film adaptation of the story, and so when I read the synopsis for this movie and realised what it was, I was so excited. I already knew within the first ten minutes I didn't like this film. Never says what year it is set in. It has a late 60s - mid 70s feel about it, yet there's a lot modern technology so I was a bit baffled by this. The score doesn't work, the cinematography is a bit shoddy, but that could be to do with giving it a more vintage look. I just don't know. The lead actress does nothing for me. Didn't get very far as I gave up after around 40min. Hated it that much.
Gar Conn This was a very good movie - suspenseful and a little weird. Reminded me of a modern '60's or 70's movie. These low ratings are ridiculous.
braddy4 This movie is definitely something different, it was interesting and entertaining and somewhat engaging. Having just watched the movie I'm not sure how I feel about it yet other than I'm glad that I stuck with it, having been interested at first and then puzzled for a little bit until it started unfolding. They went out on a limb with this one and I think they got most of what they wanted, it is a good movie.
