Young lovers in London are wrapped up in a love triangle that may not be exactly what it seems. Carmen, a beautiful Spanish woman with a tendency to lose her temper at the drop of a hat, is about to be married to Barnaby, a caring, wealthy, but slightly boring Englishman. While out with friends on her 'hen night' she encounters a stranger who suddenly sparks a passion that has been sleeping within her. As her wedding date approaches, she finds herself struggling to put this newcomer out of her mind, but his effect on her keeps growing stronger. What is it that he sees in her, and why does she feel like she's being pushed inevitably into his arms?

TrueJoshNight Truly Dreadful Film
GazerRise Fantastic!
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.
TeenzTen An action-packed slog
jotix100 Director and screenplay writer Matthew Parkhill tells us that one has to dot the I in the word love in Spanish when there isn't such need for anyone to do so since the word doesn't contain the letter! Well, if one believes that, then there is nothing wrong with this film that seems to get a favorable reaction from the people that have watched it if one goes by the votes of ten and nine given in this forum. We never heard about such thing as the bride-to-be must pick out a handsome stranger to kiss during her shower, in France, or in any other country. Evidently, if Carmen liked what she saw in Kit, then why bother to marry Barnaby? It appears the Englishman was not great in the sex department, something that the hot Brazilian was able to fulfill without any problem. The first minutes of the film are fine. Then, it meanders with no definitive direction as we are asked to stretch our imagination beyond the limit. The three principals show no chemistry. What's more the situation is somewhat absurd and goes from a romantic comedy into a film noir which doesn't make much sense. The only problem we experienced was one of credibility. Gabriel Garcia Bernal working in English doesn't seem as sharp as in his previous Mexican appearances. Natalia Verbeke shows stiffness as a flamenco dancer. James DArcy goes into a complete transformation from a man consumed by love for the beautiful Carmen into someone else.
gago-3 I must say I was very surprised by this movie. I have my TV on as I work on pc, and I almost never watch it, when this movie started I found it intriguing somehow. At first I thought it's just another romance teen movie, but something wasn't right.. I like to get surprised by a movie and there are not many movies that did that, I hate when I can easily predict things. At the end I was wondering how come I haven't heard of this movie before and than it hit me, offcourse - this is not a stupid Hollywood movieanother proof that world is so stupid, most great/intelligent movies go unnoticed
duyanoleo So it starts off fairly interesting, although suffering from a total lack of nuance or finesse. As the plot contorts itself realism goes out the window and the script loses itself in it's cleverness. The writers obviously loved their concept so much they could help but overwrite the in-you-face dialogue-heavy climactic scenes in which Kit and the overdone Barnaby reveal the truth. And then there's the terrible conclusion...are we meant to believe that a protagonist who had moral qualms over filming a girl without her consent will laugh and help her kill a man, and then incriminate two innocents for his murder? And then as Kit & Carmen shoot to stardom with a poorly shot, poorly lit digital video movie, they have no regrets, no guilt? This is NOT the Kit character we have been following throughout the film. It's the result of soulless, sloppy writing for the sake of a cheap gimmick.
jjesto The first half of the story is kind of cheesy, centering on a love triangle, with a pouty, overly dramatic young woman that overreacts to everything, claiming she has a bad temper, so she pouts some more, bitch slaps, throws little fits, to the point of stupidity---so, she's attractive and a little nutty, thats not an original character. I'd read that the film was a thriller and kept waiting for something to change the tone and had just about given up when BANG, there is a major plot twist and then the real story unfolds and takes on a completely different direction. The ridiculousness of the first half of the film was then justified, pretty much anyway. Its not an excellent film, but was worth the watch after all. It was unique indeed.
