Dolores Claiborne Audience Reviews

Acensbart Excellent but underrated film
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
Lucia Ayala It's simply great fun, a winsome film and an occasionally over-the-top luxury fantasy that never flags.
Bot_feeder Scrolling through "customers also watched" on Amazon Fire. Hey, this one's got a pretty good IMDB rating, what the heck, let's give it a shot.Am I ever glad I did. This is the best film I have seen in a very long time. Excellent story and absolutely superb acting across the board, and especially Kathy Bates.
barberic-695-574135 Slow, predictable, depressing and miserable. Add to that the "obvious" acting by Jennifer Jason Leigh, her ineptitude heightened by the brilliant acting of Kathy Bates. Will we be watching it again in the future, highly unlikely.
talisencrw This one tends to get ignored when people consider the 'classic' Stephen King film adaptations (the first 20 years), but it's very subtle, nuanced, and is basically one of King's finest and more mature works. If it was even possible for Kathy Bates to out-do her Oscar-winning work in 'Misery', she still did so, and nailed it. I'm a huge fan of John C. Reilly, Eric Bogosian (why 'Talk Radio is my favourite Oliver Stone movie and 'Under Siege 2' my favourite Steven Seagal film), David Strathairn, Christopher Plummer and especially, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and the Tony Gilroy script serves them beautifully.Unfairly, I tend to joke about director Taylor HACKford, but it just may be that he's a more contemporary model of such versatile directors from the past as Norman Jewison and Robert Wise. That's fairly esteemed company--and here, he abides himself quite nicely in some of his best work.
utahman1971 Dumb is not only the movie, but Kathy Bates is too. Never liked any of her movies at all. Not just because she is unattractive, but just because she just sounds dumb altogether. I don't think she is acting at all. She is mostly being herself. Not trying to be an arse, but just can't stand her, and she just looks evil on every single movie she is in. It is like she does not care about anything at all. Now that I said how I feel about Kathy Bates. The movie is one long boring movie that just takes forever to get somewhere that gets no where at all. These kind of movies are for the bored that want to stay bored. Nothing pulled me in this movie at all. Want to watch a movie to actually lose concentration on, this is it. Jennifer Jason Leigh is not attractive to me either, but is better looking than Bates. I was disgusted watching Single White Female with Jennifer. She took showers, but she still looked as if she was right off the streets she lived for many years. She had mold on her feet. Single White Female was way better than this crap.
