A crew of heroes is determined to save the lost arts of Hip Hop. Break Dancing, Graffiti, MCing, and DJing from total extinction. The lost arts are being oppressed throughout inner-space by lord Ook and his evil minions the Chinheads. The dental commander Dr. Julio Azul DDS, assumed to be secretary Honey Drips, Dental Hygienist/Robot Rubbish, and Grandpa have a series of adventures, synch'd to the music. Armed with the ancient relic known as the Wave Twister (a small turntable/wristwatch, the only weapon powerful enough to defeat the enemies), they travel to the far ends of inner-space for a final confrontation with the sinister army of oppressors.

DJ Q.bert's Wave Twisters Audience Reviews

Alicia I love this movie so much
BoardChiri Bad Acting and worse Bad Screenplay
Lela The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.
Dana An old-fashioned movie made with new-fashioned finesse.
momatt Love this film so much. I was already a fan of QBert's album, so I knew I'd dig this. Fantastically inventive character design, cool animation and dope beats and skratching of course. The plot's a bid mad, but what would you expect from those crazy Invisibl Skratch Piklz? Nothing else like it, essential for any fan of turntablism and cartoons.
dj_rizla I've always been a fan of DJ QBert and the Invisibl Skratch Piklz, and I had high hopes for this movie, and I was not disappointed. I already had the soundtrack so I was interested to see how that was interpreted onto film. Don't be put of with the simplistic style of some of the characters, because it works so well in motion, and there are some nice special effects with QBert himself making an appearance, seamlessly blending the live action with the animation. If you're a turntablist fan, you will love this movie. If you're not interested in the music, you'll still be in for a great animated sci-fi flick, and maybe it'll give you a taste for the music, and remember, the entire soundtrack and sound effects are just QBert on the turntables.
weerdo1482-1 I have never really liked dj music, or dance music either for that matter. But a friend of mine put this in, and I was hooked. DJ Qbert has a very unique style of using records that you normally wouldn't normally exspect to hear used by by a DJ. Think old space cereals on vinyl. Also, unlike other DJ's, He uses the bare minimum. A sampler playing a beat with a few sounds, and a record player. And with that minimalistic aproach, he creates the entire sound track of this movie, the dialouge, the back ground music, the sound fx, everything! The movie itself is a combinations of sci fi cliche's and obvious plays on classics such as star trek and star wars. But there is also that layer of the street mid 80's. The constant presents of things like Atari's, old arcade style games, grafiti, toys, and old school rap essentials give the movie a very unique almost indescribable feel. If you are in to really different and exsperimental movies, you should really check it out. But, I must worn you, you might end up with a few new cd's when its all over, because the music is very addictive...
nicepants Wave Twisters is one of the greatest movies i have ever seen. if you're into the old-school bboy style at all, you will definitely love this movie. SF's famous graffiti DougOne interprets DJ Q-Bert's excellent Wave Twisters soundtrack into a masterpiece of the bboy arts: breakdancing, graffiti, mc'ing, and of course, skratching. If you're even mildly interested in any of these things, this movie is for you.
