Let's be realistic.

I cannot think of one single thing that I would change about this film. The acting is incomparable, the directing deft, and the writing poignantly brilliant.

The movie is wonderful and true, an act of love in all its contradictions and complexity

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

May be spoilers Wow. People have no idea how to enjoy classic Disney for what it is. This has all the hallmarks of a feel good, mostly great acted, stunningly choreographed Disney film that is based on beloved characters. The costumes are based on them and supposed to look that way, and it's supposed to be charmingly cheesy. It's based on Cartoons and childhood stories.) It's also not a drama, and it was leaps and bounds above the first one. Yes, the dragon was annoyingly fake, and there were places where it was slow, but there were so many good song and dance sequences. I still can't believe they pulled off dancing on a water stage. It has the feel of a live WDW stage production.

Honestly I don't know why people are complaining so much about the movie, but everyone is entitle to their opinion...And mine, is that the movie was awesome, the music, the dances, the love story, the true love kiss... everything was great. I think Uma could have been better, Harry Hook was awesome and GIl was funny, he should have had more lines, anyway.Mitchell Hope, i don't know what he has but i truly feel the love between his and Dove's characters, Mal and Ben, ever since the first one, it was pure gold. Cameron BOyce always awesome, Sophia Carson it was great, Boo Boo Stweart was great but he should have more lines also. And his relationship with Lonnie was to dry... I hope there is Third one! I really do... :)

I really enjoyed the first movie, and I think that this one really let it down. The movie had certain parts that I did enjoy, like when they had the big fight scene on Uma's ship and Dude the talking dog (which sad as it is, I found the funniest part of the whole movie). There were some parts that needed improvement like the True Love's Kiss was okay, but when Mal and Ben kept kissing after that it got old. There was also the part when Ben roared on the boat after Mal turned into a dragon and Uma turned into a creature like her mother, I thought that he was going to turn into a sort of mini-Beast, instead of asking them to respect each other. The songs weren't nearly as good as the first one and the only one that had a remotely catchy tune was Chillin like a villain.Overall, this movie was a waste of time and should have been better planned.

The film picks up where the last on leaves off. There is no introduction of characters or any kind or recap of the events. Our teens are starting to "couple up" with Mal having second thoughts and some self-esteem issues. In this chapter Disney takes a stab at diversity. The famous evil parents are not in this movie and we have a baby Hook who was more inspired by Johnny Depp than Captain Hook. The music was more hip-hop and I didn't enjoy it as much as the original, even though the choreography was spot on.I thought the plot was a miss. They certainly could have done a better job there. It seems like this production may be nothing more than a connection type of movie with the promise of the next feature being much better. It sure did end that way. The opening made me hungry for candy apples.
