Ameriatch One of the best films i have seen
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
PiraBit if their story seems completely bonkers, almost like a feverish work of fiction, you ain't heard nothing yet.
Tobias Burrows It's easily one of the freshest, sharpest and most enjoyable films of this year.
demaym Another British independent film, with another shockingly low score on IMDb...I'm not sure who the people are rating these, but films in the '2-3 star' region would suggest that they are so bad, and painful, that you wonder how they were even financed and made - Scores this low would suggest that a film is trash, through and through, with no redeeming features. This piece of work, whilst not academy award worthy by any means, is certainly not 'trash' - in fact, it's quite entertaining and well made.Lets look at the facts - The actors have presence, and did a great job - lots of familiar faces for us Brits, such as Billy Murray, Craig Fairbrass, etc.. who have featured heavily in U.K television, and film. The soundtrack was cool, and whilst the special effects were not ground breaking, they were certainly good enough. It looks pleasant on the eye, and is quite cinematic in places. The vampire clichés are not original, but I honestly haven't seen a British gangster/vampire flick before, so that was kind of refreshing, as I'm a fan of both. There was lots of violence, lots of gore, and lots of blood, if you're into that sort of thing. Corny love scenes are not present.I found the pace to be fine, as the film is split into two halves, with the first half playing out like a regular gangster/crime movie, and the second half focusing on the vampire element. It worked fine.I'd pick this film over twilight any day of the week, and that's a compliment, considering one had a multi-million dollar budget, and this had a fraction of that...The negatives? The voice effects of the vampires were quite lame, and some of the female actors were a bit average at best.I've seen much better films, but also seen much much worse.3.5? Ridiculous.6/10 in my opinion.
trashgang It's always dangerous to mix to genres together especially when it has been done before. Face it, if you watch this British production then you surely will be reminded of From Dusk Till Dawn. Here we have gangsters in the first 45 minutes fighting against some Romanian thug. But once the Romanians have taken over the property of the Brits the Brits decide to take it all back. Wrong, the Romanians aren't just criminals, they are creatures of the night. So far so good. The positive thing is the fact that it's spoken in cockney accent and I like that accent very much. Naturally they use slang but for those not understanding it all they included subs. The actors are all well known faces in the UK scene and some you will recognise from for example Perry Banson who played dad in Mum And Dad. Craig Fairbrass from Devil's Playground and others due appeared in blockbusters like Clash Of The Titans. So the acting was believable. My only problem was the fact that it took a bit of time before the vampires arrived. Once they were there the red stuff do flows but it never becomes gory and sadly some of the red stuff is CGI. It's a weird flick, the chicks look awesome at the club and the acting was okay but it did lack a bit of real horror. Nevertheless, it was great to see all those actors together but the story failed a bit...Fun to see Eleanor James again, sadly she didn't say anything and was only at the background. Common, you can do better...Gore 2/5 Nudity 0/5 Story 2/5 Effects 2/5 Comedy 0/5
wowthismoviesucks-852-614515 I'm reposting this after some-one connected to the film tried to have it deleted. It breaks no IMDb rules. I will not be censored from expressing an honest opinion. This movie is absolutely terrible. It is a lazy cross between a cheap cockney criminal story and a very cheap vampire story. Imagine if From Dusk Till Dawn had been filmed in a weekend on a camera in Bermondsay..yes it really is that bad, Instead of International stars like George Clooney you have an ex soap actor who made a few low budget horror films years ago ( or two if you count Fairbrass) and Steven Berkoff, Berkoff was big in the 80s when the States liked to cast English actors as the bad guy in everything but we got wise. The Brits rate Berkoff for some reason but he plays every part exactly the same: strutting about and shouting like Hitler. Berkoff is down a long way from Beverley Hills Cop to be starring in crap like this. All of this could be forgiven if the action was even half decent. I've always heard that the English had the best stunt men in the world. Perhaps this was too cheap to have a proper stunt man because the action is like something out of a school play.Boring.I didn't pay to watch this and you shouldn't either.
The Reprobate I was a little surprised to see how low rating this movie had here at IMDb. I mean, it's not the greatest movie I've ever seen, but it's not the worst either. It has a bunch of cool actors (Craig Fairbrass is stone cold cool) and a fun storyline. The vampires are kind of lame, but not more so than in every other vampire movie ever made. The action has a different flavour than all the boring big time action/horror movies, but to me that's just a plus. The directing feels a little disjointed at times, but nothing too bad.All in all, I recommend this to anyone who likes British gangster and/or horror flicks. Just don't go in expecting too much.
