Although it has its amusing moments, in eneral the plot does not convince.

All that we are seeing on the screen is happening with real people, real action sequences in the background, forcing the eye to watch as if we were there.

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

a surprising short film. for the reflection of nuances. for the convincing performances. for the dialogues. and for the tension who grows up moment by moment. two boys. a meet. symbols, memories, legends, family. and the desire. all as a circle of friendship. and as explanation of the truth behind the words. result, a beautiful film. first, for the high portrait of the states of an unique age. than - for the delicacy of the story. because, like each story from same genre, it is a special story. and the director has, in this case, to explore, in precise way, all the possibilities to propose it as a seductive sketch of hidden feelings. a delicate Davy, care about small details. the older and , almost ideal sport man Stu. and the appearances, fragile and protective.

"Davy and Stu" is a 15-minute American short film from 10 years ago. I wish i could say something better in the face of one of the actors' tragic fate, but sadly this is not a good film in terms of acting, writing or direction. No surprise to see none of the core players in front of or behind the camera having really great careers a decade after this was made. It's a dialogue-driven film, but rarely interesting and I cannot say I really cared for the characters at any point here. A disappointing watch and as with most other gay-themed short films the rating on IMDb is way too high unfortunately. I cannot recommend checking it out. Thumbs down.

This short movie is love at first sight for me. I am still not over it as I write this review. I think it really struck a chord. I watched it three times in a row and could not get over how charming it is. Yes, it is a story about first love. No, it's not the same re-hashed stuff. The acting is so good the characters are real. At one moment in the movie, Travis Walters (Davy) approaches Nicholas Cutros (Stu) and looks into his face with such searching eyes you'd think he was peering right into Stu's soul. Oh my, it's just too good. The dialog is NOT hard to follow as suggested by another reviewer. In fact the dialog makes the characters, Dave and Stu, that much more likable. The actors are superb. The direction is superb. The quality is superb. If you are in any way romantic like me, the story will land on you like milk and cookies. You'll want more.

This film is about two young teenage boys meeting in a forest to deal with their affection for each other."Davy and Stu" is a low budget production. There is no set, no costumes and no extra actors. It is a film in its simplest form. The plot is simple, and very heavy in dialog. Unfortunately, the strong Scottish accent makes the dialog hard to understand. The plot is quite predictable, following a formulaic pattern. Though it is interesting to see what the boys would be up to, I lost interest because of the lack of engaging plot and the constantly incomprehensible dialog. I think I would have enjoyed it better if it was in a more English accent.
