disgusting, overrated, pointless

Yes, absolutely, there is fun to be had, as well as many, many things to go boom, all amid an atmospheric urban jungle.

This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.

Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.

I'm not the demographic for this film about Daphne and Velma, but I'm a long-time Scooby-Doo fan and I was curious. The best word for this film is "innocuous." It is neither particularly bad nor good. This is straight-to-DVD and it has that close-but-not-yet-there quality. The production is cheap, even more so than those two made-for-DVD Scooby-Doo movies from a little under ten years ago. The plot moves briskly and competently, but there's nothing to really draw one in. The dialogue really lags at points and there is some weird use of sound effects and voice overs.Still, you get the feeling that the cast and crew were trying. There are some funny jokes here, including one that is surprisingly and delightfully dark for the film. The setting is bright and colorful and does the best it can with the budget. The cast is mostly decent, especially main actresses Sarah Jeffery and Sarah Gillman, and do better than expected with the dialogue their given. (Still at times they're not miracle workers.) I wish them all luck and greener pastures.Overall, this isn't something I'd necessarily recommend but you can show it to your kids without it probably bugging you. If you have girls, Daphne and Velma also serve as strong role models.

Starts off already but starts failing after the first 30 minutes and then goes into major sinkhole territory during the final act. What a shame, because they looked like they had the budget to pull this off.

Daphne and Velma is a funny, feminist, and weird in a good way movie. Ignore the haters who are saying that this movie is bad just because Fred, Shaggy, and, Scooby are not in it. Yes, I admit it isn't exactly award show worthy and some parts are downright cheesy and don't totally make sense, but that doesn't take away from how awesome it actually is. I mean this movie updated the Scooby Doo universe to a whole new century full of feminism and biracial leads and I for one whole heartedly accept these updates and hope that you will too. So try to ignore the haters and watch this movie yourself. From your own opinion. Oh and if you have kid relatives or friends invite them along and I'm sure you won't regret it.

When I first heard about this movie I was told the concept was Daphne and Velma pre-mystery Incorporated battling zombies and I thought "awesome! This sounds like Shaun of the dead meets Scooby Doo! That sounds amazing! I am in! " Great concept right? Yeah... only what we actually got was nothing even remotely like that. What we got instead was a disappointing saccharine sweet kid friendly boring vanilla high school crush Disney Channel mess How could you take such an interesting concept and screwed up so badly? This thing is unwatchable. There is literally nothing whatsoever interesting or original about this movie. They turn this into a kids movie that neither kids nor adults are going to want to watch. This is a disappointing mess It's very telling that the only positive review on here is made from a dummy account, that was just created recently, and only has one review which is for this movie. It's pretty bad when even the creators feel the need to post fake reviews and try to boost this thing because they know how poorly it's going to be received. Way to drop the ball This could've been something cool instead you chose to go with...thisWhy did you even bother?
