Info

Coming & Going is an irreverent romantic comedy that poses the question: How far would you go to capture the heart of the one you love? Lee (Rhys Darby) is a young, skilled OBGYN who lacks confidence when it comes to talking to women outside his successful medical practice. A minor injury temporarily lands him in a wheelchair and it is at that precise time that he meets his dream girl Alex (Sasha Alexander). Convinced she's only paid attention to him because he's in that chair, he stays in it to win her affections well after his injury has healed. Coming & Going is about love and the extreme things people do for it.

Coming & Going Audience Reviews

RyothChatty ridiculous rating
StyleSk8r At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.
Sameer Callahan It really made me laugh, but for some moments I was tearing up because I could relate so much.
Janae Milner Easily the biggest piece of Right wing non sense propaganda I ever saw.
claireebowen Lighthearted, funny and a wonderful watch, the casting is fabulous, Sasha Alexander is amazing, the highlight of the film for me (I am so learning those dance moves!) and Rhys Darby is so cute in a painful way. There isn't a weak link in this cast, the dull Sister, the nosey Aunt and the drunk whale all made me giggle. Great watch for a girls night, makes you believe in love and that there is someone for everyone out there, no matter what. Edoardo Ponti, writes, directs, produces and has a cameo which sometimes puts me off a film buthe does this so well seriously give this lovely film a go.It was made in less than a month and on a small budget but you honestly wouldn't think so, I had to buy a region 1 as it doesn't appear to be out on region 2 but watched it on my laptop several times and still laugh. Buy it you would be mad not to!
pantherwoman This is a small movie (read Independent) that delivers big time. This well written, well directed, well acted film shows that if you open your heart, love is there waiting to come in and fill it up.Rhys Darby successfully blends humor with just enough klutz to make everyone fall in love with him.Of course, the highlight of the film for me, is Sasha Alexander. This talented actress is as comfortable with humor as she is with Drama or action. Her portrayal of Alex is spot on. She is quirky, sexy and full of surprises. You may just find yourself adding a new word to your vocabulary, I know I did.
chanceofrainne Very cute movie, lighthearted, somewhat adult in nature (mind the little ones - you might have to explain some things!). Funny and sweet in the right places. I was quite surprised to learn that this was a 100% indie project - it has the look and feel of a standard-budget cute summer romcom. The actors are not necessarily well known, though Sasha Alexander's name might be familiar to more people now she's got a hit show, but they're comedy genius. Fionnula Flanagan is terrific as the nosy aunt who lives next door, Rhys Darby is perfect in the role of the guy who just can't get it together enough to make it with a girl, and Alexander is perfect in her role as the girl who's given up on guys (but not completely). Definitely recommend this movie to anyone (though like I said, mind the little ones, as there are definitely a few, um, "adult" moments).
Carolyn4901 Rhys Darby's performance as Lee is very good in its believability of character and comic quirkiness. He convincingly plays a doctor who cannot seem to attract women and his shyness in putting himself out there to meet women seems genuine. He meets Alex (Sasha Alexander) almost by accident: she nearly runs him over in a parking garage. He's been attracted to her for quite some time but never had the courage to even speak to her. The lovely Sasha Alexander subtly shows her acting chops here. Even the movie goer is convinced she finds him interesting because he's in a wheelchair and he cannot convince himself she's attracted to the person inside of him. This is the perfect rainy day movie, or a lighthearted romantic comedy perfect for those Friday evenings at home. Don't miss it.
