Blending excellent reporting and strong storytelling, this is a disturbing film truly stranger than fiction

One of the worst ways to make a cult movie is to set out to make a cult movie.

China Town is a humorous movie with a good first half and a really disappointing post interval copied from Todd Philips movie The Hangover.Duo of Rafi and Mecartin have created a film with a loopholed script, which can make the audience entertained for half the part;not as expected from a vishu release. Some -ves::1)The introduction of the star singer contestants which is really annoying to the proceedings of the movie.2)The Hangover effect in the second half which makes the audience go search for script,if any .3)Unnecessary characters like that of Sumo wrestler Libor Dizo, who was used as a method of promotion for the movie and that of Jagathy which makes one wonder why he was incorporated.4)A lot of borrowed scenes and sms comedies which seems useless and boring. Some +ves::1)The peppy music by Jassy which does the job of entertaining the audience.2)Some good performances from the leads.3)Brilliant camera work by Azhagappan.4)Some good laugh-outs in the first half.Performances::Mohanlal does a good job of entertaining his fans and nothing more.Dileep does a nice part in the first half, but seems unutilized post-interval.Jayaram does justice to his role and is appreciable.Kavya has a good role in the movie and she does it with full commitment.Poonam Bajwa and Dipasha are wasted in the movie and has nothing much to do.Verdict:Chinatown is a one-time watch for people who loves to laugh without knowing the logic, but for a dedicated movie lover I would suggest to rent and watch some old witty flicks or movies like Hang Over.Ma Rating::5.5/10
