A clunky actioner with a handful of cool moments.

I enjoyed watching this film and would recommend other to give it a try , (as I am) but this movie, although enjoyable to watch due to the better than average acting fails to add anything new to its storyline that is all too familiar to these types of movies.

Suresh Krishna steals the limelight in this movie with the only laughable parts centered on him. Lal is good, but overacts when he gets stoned. Biju Menon is more like a serious character with blatant relationship issues & that is what becomes the base of the movie. The story is great, inventive & experimental and the movie would have been better had the two newcomers not acted & showed how they CAN'T act at all and a more careful plot. The screenplay & editing has to be appreciated here. But the cheapness filled in the dialogs, songs & certain characters spoils the whole broth which is enjoyable till it hits the interval. After that, the melodrama unfolds and the movie ends particularly noting a possible sequel.BOTTOM LINE: A jolly good entertainer but let me remind you, the base & dialogs are tad adult so you might not want to watch this before a family. Otherwise, Chettayees is a one-time watchable movie with your teenage/like-minded friends. Can be watched with a typical Indian family?
