Cheaters Audience Reviews

Lovesusti The Worst Film Ever
GarnettTeenage The film was still a fun one that will make you laugh and have you leaving the theater feeling like you just stole something valuable and got away with it.
Ezmae Chang This is a small, humorous movie in some ways, but it has a huge heart. What a nice experience.
Scotty Burke It is interesting even when nothing much happens, which is for most of its 3-hour running time. Read full review
bombersflyup Cheaters is a reasonable to good film that never really threatens to be anything more than that, as its characters have no depth and at times it can be quite amateurish. It has an interesting story and is an engaging film however. It's basically "Cool Runnings" all over again :). Jena Malone and Jeff Daniels are good, but the rest of the cast is pretty weak. Apart from the poor characters, my biggest problem with the film is how obvious they made it that they were cheating. Going from winning none of the awards to winning every single one.
xile19766 This movie is not even close. I went to Steinmetz when this happened, and one of the kids in this was a friend of mine. We went to Monroe middle school together, and wound up going to the same high school. His name was Thomas and he was always smart and always top of his class. Neither school was portrayed accurately. This movie would have been OK if I didn't know any better. I guess its true what they say about a "based on a true story" movie. Its 5% truth and 95% fiction. I wish they would have done a little more research on the schools before making this film. Whitney Young was the school to beat at that time, but they were not the tidy little students you see in this film. They had the same gang fights we had, the same trouble makers in class (me), The thing they had that we didn't was better teachers.
ilke akbulut I've seen this movie today on DVD and i found more than i expected. It's a great movie. Not only it deals with students who cheat and a teacher who helps them, but also the differences in a society. We say every one is equal, but this movie shows us that some are more equal. I totally agree with the idea that this things would never come up if those students were in a better school in a better part of the city. Let's face it. There is still discrimination among people. I don't approve cheating, but i got no harm from cheating. In this movie, we see that we can come over this discrimination even if we have to cheat. The fact is if they had taken that boy to the team, no one could claim they cheated. So it would be possible to cheat the system.
purple_ghostie Saw this movie for the first time today, and I have to say that I'm disappointed in the outcome. The teacher is faced with the decision of whether or not he should condone cheating, and chooses to make it the kids decision. The one person who does the right thing doesn't turn in the other kids out of any moral reasoning, but out of jealousy. At the end of the movie, we hear Jolie narrating and saying she might become a teacher, to help shape young minds. That if she catches them cheating, she'll come down on them. Then she says "If they can get past me, I'll know they can make it in the real world." Now, I understand that this is based on a true story, and the movie does seem end the same way the actual events did, but I truly hope that at least some of the students involved learned something more than the real life Jolie Fitch did. Ms. Fitch, the real world is what we make of it. If you want the world to continue to be unfair, then by all means, continue cheating your way through life. Or you COULD stand up and make it different. "Everybody cheats" is no excuse, and "everybody" is not who you have to face in the mirror each day. I do understand also the frustration at seeing others with more benefits, simply because they have money. I'm far from rich and my kids and I all have gone through public schools, but I know I would hate to be one of the people who contributes to making this world even more unjust.
