Very very predictable, including the post credit scene !!!

It's no definitive masterpiece but it's damn close.

It is not only a funny movie, but it allows a great amount of joy for anyone who watches it.

As somebody who had not heard any of this before, it became a curious phenomenon to sit and watch a film and slowly have the realities begin to click into place.

Seriously, when it comes to horror movies 9 times out of 10 when a movie is rated low I can see why, but with this one I honestly can't.I guess maybe people expected something else, I know I did, I thought it was gonna be your typical run of the mill slasher and I had reservations to watching it due to the incredibly low rating.Currently rated 3.5/10 which is a ridiculous rating considering the overall good performances and (for me at least) interesting plot that are a lot more character driven than most horrors, which in all honestly is all about the bodycount and the kills. This one is not about that at all, and perhaps it's more of a psychological drama than it is horror but that still doesn't validate the low rating IMO.TBH a lot of the bad reviews don't seem to have watched this movie with claims that this is a pro-Christian fundamentalist movie, sure there's a lot of talk about Jesus and sins etc (hello this movie takes place at a Christian camp!) but it's not painting a flattering picture of the cult- like Christians of the camp at all and how the movie transforms in the end I really don't see how anyone can make that claim... Unless they turned it off half-way through or something...Anyway, I decided to watch it mainly for Jesse Eisenberg. He however is not in it all that much, 2 scenes basically but cut up to multiple segments throughout the movie. But that didn't really bother me because the rest of the cast were fine. It's a little cheesy at times maybe I suppose but it entertained me fine and it also had you wondering how it was gonna end which with horrors 9 times out of 10 you already know from the gate so that's definitely a plus, not a masterpiece by any means but definitely better than expected for sure.

I think that you can see this movie from 2 points of view: religion and the wish to see a thriller movie.About the thriller movie: it's more like a spiritual horror, as many said. It manages to induce some freak, but not too much.About the religios side, because it is inspired from real facts, I think that the character didn't manage to get the real sense of religion, not even after many years. Why? because he ended the movie by wondering what could be God useful at if he didn't help him to get over his nightmares. one important thing wasn't said in this movie: if you want God to help you, then you have to ask him and pray. And in a real way, not forced by your parents or the priest. Of course your parents and the priest may guide you. We can make choices, but we can choose the good or we can choose the bad. If we choose bad then it's not God's fault that he doesn't do anything. Like Einstein said: dark is the absence of light. I think this is what we should have understood from this movie, but I didn't see that and it's a deception to see that a man who passed through that didn't finally understand the important things. And he even made a movie. deception. it my opinion.

What the hell did I just watch? The only scary thing about this film is that there are really religious freaks out there, who are willing to send their kids to camps like this. The producers of this movie must have known how awful it was, because they put a big picture of "The Social Network Guy," Jesse Eisenberg on the cover, and list him as the star, when he's in the movie for all of 2 minutes. The star is Will Denton, who you may remember from the short lived TV series, Kidnapped. He was pretty good, so was Gossip Girls, Connor Paolo. It's too bad they didn't have an actual script to work with. It really just blows my mind that things like this get made. No one in their right mind would consider this movie worth their time.

Camp Hell was worse than an after school special. I am shocked to find they spent $3 million on this film. I get the religious undertones of guilt and torment these teens go through in a church community but the title is really deceiving. The direction, pace and plot was also pure torture to observe. What made this movie even worse is the fact your waiting for something scary to happen based on the suspenseful trailer. However, it appears Lionsgate spent more time on the trailer than the actual movie. I rank Camp Hell as one of the worse horror films I've ever seen because it was: (1) really bad; and (2)it took itself so seriously.
