Cadet Kelly Audience Reviews

Micitype Pretty Good
Plustown A lot of perfectly good film show their cards early, establish a unique premise and let the audience explore a topic at a leisurely pace, without much in terms of surprise. this film is not one of those films.
Yash Wade Close shines in drama with strong language, adult themes.
Paynbob It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Chelsea Beaton I still really like this film. I bought it on DVD after watching it on the Disney channel. I like to watch it now and then... but with like a gap of 6 months in between. Hillary Duff is a great actor, she is beautiful and fits in with every character she has played. I recommend this film to young girls. But only rent it so you don't waste money on a film you will probably never watch again. I enjoyed this film. I think it has great actors. Not much of a love story... unfortunately... but has a bit of one. I admit i really love romantic films. But this one hasn't got much to it. Great to see what happens in the end, and a great moral to the story. They all live happily ever after... of course!
bkoganbing In Cadet Kelly, Hillary Duff takes her Lizzie McGuire character and does a Private Benjamin by going to military school. Instead of the cartoon Lizzie revealing her inner most thoughts for the audience, Duff does a narration over the action of the film.To bond with her new stepfather, Gary Cole, who is a retired career army man, Duff is put in military school where Cole came from and where he's now the commandant.A lot of the same situations that happen in comedies like Private Benjamin and even further back with Rosalind Russell's Never Wave at a WAC occur here. Nothing new added and Hillary Duff is certainly no Rosalind Russell, but she's an appealing young lady, if she wasn't that Lizzie McGuire series would not have run for any length of time.Another Disney regular Christy Carlson Romano from Even Stevens is also along as Duff's military school tormentor, her Eileen Brennan. It's not Citizen Kane or The Godfather, but there are worst ways to kill two hours than watching Cadet Kelly.
Kat Monty As a former member of a drill team in a JROTC program, this movie was disgraceful. My drill team would never have pulled some of the moves they did in the movie. Unarmed fancy teams are not step teams!!! They do not preform routines like that and win where I come from. Military bearing is the most important thing when it comes to drill. Also, the weapons they use on the movie sound like colorguard weapons for a marching band. Those weapons sound like they weight about 1 - 2 pounds. The weapons a real drill team uses should be at least 8 - 12 pounds. Award winning drill teams that I have seen preform harder routines than that.Disney needs to research military schools and JROTC programs before they make a movie involving them. Overall this movie made me want to throw something at the TV.
baybee_blue03 Shawn Ashmore is the hottest and most gorgeous guy in this whole world!!! Well, Cadet Kelly is a great movie for young kids, especially since it has issues that come to mind everyday, and the movie is very easy to understand. Hilary Duff is an excellent performer and she was exception well trained for the movie. Cadet Kelly's storyline is something I usually look to see on a movie channel, well of course Disney is a movie channel, but a movie channel for mature ages. Everyone of all ages can relate to this movie! I am proud to say that this movie is my most favorite movie ever!!! This movie gives an example of a well raised and well out-spoken young girl. Most of us would agree that movies like Cadet Kelly will take the future way ahead of ourselves!
