I am only giving this movie a 1 for the great cast, though I can't imagine what any of them were thinking. This movie was horrible

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.

"Bruder vor Luder" is a German movie by Tomas Erhart and Alexander Dydyna and the two lead actors are also credited as co-directors. Which means it took no less than three directors to produce this mess. Truly embarrassing. There has been a lot of talk about the German movie "Kartoffelsalat" recently, a project made by several Youtubers and the consequence was that this one here went a bit under the radar. But it also deserves at least as much criticism because it is a huge mess. The film runs for slightly under 90 minutes and features the Lochis, two famous German Youtubers with millions of subscribers in the lead roles basically playing themselves. The problem, however, is that they have absolutely zero acting talent and I cannot say I was impressed by their singing either. Equally untalented there. It's all comedy really, but the problem is it is never funny. I don't really know the Lochis, but the inclusion of Simon Desue and DagiBee in the cast here (2 massive scam channels on Youtube that are basically nothing than advertising telling audiences it is products they actually use) sheds a really negative light on this movie if the lack of talent in all areas (directing, writing and most of all acting) isn't bad enough already. It's almost impossible to find something positive here. Maybe one positive aspect is that the two female lead actors still try to make the most of their gimmicky and horribly-written characters and that occasionally you can actually see that they have acted in many projects in the past already. Besides that, Axel Stein and Oliver Pocher are exactly the people I'd expect to see in a film like this, even if it is just cameos that were probably included to get audiences to check this one out. It makes me a bit sad though to see actually talented people like Ludger Pistor or Switch's Petra Nadolny in here. Anyway, overall the film is complete garbage. Unfunny, stupid story and completely forgettable characters, most of all the Lochis themselves with their "performances". Stay far far away.

You know I almost felt so sorry for the movie that I gave it a higher rating. Not that it would deserve it. But because the average rating right now is so low. Don't get me wrong, the people involved may have some other "talents" (like being on Youtube), but either the movie is so Meta that it actually is fun and no one understands it - by singing what he's going to do wrong at the beginning you have to wonder about the grade of stupidity in one of the brothers.Don't get it twisted though: The other brother is not really good either. While we all know that siblings have a love-hate relationship (or heard about that), this really blows the lid of. The things the brother does are almost as despicable as the things the sister does. Why on earth just sit there (literally in one case) and let them do that? Well even if you don't mind that and consider it "silliness", the cliché thing is really ticking all the boxes! I mean all of them. It's so on the nose that you'll find hitting your face just to get rid of it (unsucessfully I may add). The "actors" look nice and I almost feel sorry for them. But it should be back to school for them before they take on another job. Same goes for the screenwriter (there was one, right? Not that you could tell ...)
