I didn’t really have many expectations going into the movie (good or bad), but I actually really enjoyed it. I really liked the characters and the banter between them.

There is, somehow, an interesting story here, as well as some good acting. There are also some good scenes

Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.

Becoming...an Australian sometimes ago, I had seen G L and his Bond movie so was curious about "Becoming Bond" when it came on our little screen last night. In some ways it made me think about Santa Claus, Adult, and Adult..hood. And all the lies we tell young people about life and values. As for G L he had no problems with these lies as he showed us what he already knew about life at age 6. I'm almost ashamed to admit that I enjoyed this simple story of a rather complicated nature. But let's not be confused, G L had more than one strings to his bow! If you care about it the WWW will enlighten you on his achievements. He may not have formally act previous to his film but he was more than streetwise! Back to the show, like many have reported I found it disappointing that they could not find someone a little more alike him to re enact parts of his life. Well, (I guess I would also have had him a little more like "the guy" I remembered). But it really did not feel comfortable to associate the two. It was not really a big deal, as the whole thing was not that sophisticated and was rather raw. I also found lot of other claims about his past...So be it, or not be it and it won't stop the earth spinning. However, give and take, I don't regret the watching.

I had never heard of George Lazenby before, and this was a documentary I wanted to see because it sounded like a fun, entertaining, weird story. Do not go into this movie expecting a typical documentary with many friends of the subject being interviewed and all those things we typically see in movies of the kind. This documentary is mostly a narration, by Lazenby himself, about his entire life and how he got to be James Bond. The narration is accompanied by actors playing the stories he is narrating, since his childhood until adulthood. However, the acting in these parts was beyond awful, annoying, and way too over the top. As for the visuals, which I consider very relevant in documentaries, they leave a lot to be desired. Mr. Lazenby was the only thing in this movie I found interesting. His narration is quite entertaining, him being a humorous, friendly person. I also felt the documentary was a bit too one sided (we only have one version of the story, there is, as I mentioned, a lack of people being interviewed, which often brings depth to the subjects being analyzed). By the end of the film, I was just extremely underwhelmed. The movie failed my expectations on every level, with its only good aspect being the charming personality of David Lazenby.I feel like you would be spending your time better if you read the Wikipedia article.

Liked the movie well played except I would have thought George would have included why he left Queanbeyan Australia in such a hurry?? The police record is there he was dealing in stolen cars/parts & the cops were on to it. Prove me wrong! I don't think so. The garage he worked at had a secret room at the back full of stolen car parts. When the cops came around they measured the outside of the garage & then the inside & they didn't add up that is how they found the stolen car parts. Good bit of factual trivia!! I am looking forward to see if this is published!!!

George Lazenby has become a polished story teller about all his Bond experiences. They are very interesting and he has become, over the years, very good at telling these stories and presenting them in both a fascinating and very humorous manner. We were in stitches. The wonderful thing about seeing a film in a festival setting is that there is not an empty seat to be found, and that every chair has in it a responsive audience member that is hanging on every word and laughing out loud en mass.George, who has retired to somewhere California told one of his stories to the right ear. Someone who knew a couple of young, up and coming, very talented film makers. Who after several 3 and a half hour lunches listening to George decided they wanted to make a movie with him. This was a wonderful screening at this years Hot Docs film festival with a wonderful Q&A where I was able to both speak with the film makers themselves as well as George who picked up when the director called him from the stage. He shared some additional insights through the auditoriums sound system but we all would have loved to see him.Very good show.
