tattju I too saw this film many, many years ago. I have searched through catalogs provided by movie rental stores looking for a copy of it. No one seems to have it or even know how to get it. If anyone ever finds a copy, I would gladly pay a very good price for it. It is an exceptional piece of work. I don't understand why, when there is such a demand for a film of such magnitude, there are no copies available to the public for purchase. I hate to think this film will be lost to future generations who have not yet had the opportunity to view it. This work is too good to just be stashed away and never seen again. If it were even possible to get the film aired on television again, at least then it could be recorded for future viewing. It is a very touching film and much more realistic than the cartoon version. It also is true to the written story and not drawn out into a series as was also done on television some years ago. (Not that the series was bad, just not the same.) I'm sure those of you who saw it understand what I am saying. It was also truly a different role for George C. Scott to play. I have never seen him play that type of a character ever again in anything. He was the greatest.

miriamhazel The performance of George C Scott in this version of Beauty and the Beast is absolutely breathtaking. You simply cannot take your eyes off him. I would go so far as to say his performance is spellbinding. The film is beautifully directed and has allowed George C Scott to work his magic. Likewise, the editing has been expertly done and is unobtrusive. No other versions of this film come anywhere near close to this one. You will remember this film for a long time.I would love to get my hands on a copy of this version of Beauty and the Beast unfortunately it doesn't seem be be available. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

firemagikk I was so impressed with this production of Beauty and the Beast that I have thought of it many times over the years. How can it be that this little film left such an impression? I would absolutely jump at the opportunity to purchase a copy. George C. Scott became an instant favorite actor of mine as a result. He was the perfect beast and while Trish Van Devere was excellent and she made a fine Beauty, it was Scott's performance that stayed with me. I wonder if the people who own the rights to this film ever check the IMDb comments. If they did they would surely see that this feature would be much in demand among those of us who enjoy older films.

clalmond52 When I was young, this movie gave me a great feelings that I have had with me my whole life. I feel that all persons should be able to experience the same life long feelings that this movie gave me. The acting and powerful good examples of love should be shared with all. Please make this movie available for purchase or to be seen again on TV. Please let me know if it is. I have been looking for this since I was young. Just to see it on this web let me know it was not just in my mind, I really did see it. I loved this movie, please let it be seen again. Please let me know if there is anyway I can see it again. I now have grandchildren who should be able to see this movie. I would love to share this with them. George C Scott was incredible in this role and he should be seen by all in this grand acting roll.
