Batman Audience Reviews

Ensofter Overrated and overhyped
Helloturia I have absolutely never seen anything like this movie before. You have to see this movie.
Abegail Noëlle While it is a pity that the story wasn't told with more visual finesse, this is trivial compared to our real-world problems. It takes a good movie to put that into perspective.
Fulke Great example of an old-fashioned, pure-at-heart escapist event movie that doesn't pretend to be anything that it's not and has boat loads of fun being its own ludicrous self.
zakkyliar DC nowadays believes in the idea of "Dark" and "Edgy" cinematic medium, and we can see their low success clearly. In my opinion it shouldn't have gone beyond Tim Burton's unique dark vision. In contrast to all that, what we have here is a very enjoyable almost a "childish" movie. That doesn't mean it's aimed towards small kids though, any lover of campy fun can enjoy through this not so serious idea of Batman. I must admit, I never watch superhero movies, especially the latest installments of Batman always repulsed me in some way, but I can firmly stand behind this idea of colorful, funny Batman. 7/10, Enjoyed! Just don't expect any serious dramatic lines or dark visuals and you are good too go.
dobrescumihai Dear Film Lovers, This has probably been the most stupid movie that I have seen recently. I wished that at least I would have had a good laugh now and then, but I simply did not. More recent movies are more sophisticated and endowed with lots of special effects. This one was made in the year of 1966, that is, fifty-two years ago and it only had the technology that was available back then. Under these circumstances, I have expected that something was lying hidden somewhere at the root of this unending saga. There is nothing there. It is just a simple movie for little boys who want to chase bad guys under a stupid disguise. Please do not waste your time with this movie. Best Regards, DOBRESCU_Mihai.
alexanderdavies-99382 It made sense to make a feature movie of "Batman" to cash in on the huge success of the television show. I still have memories of seeing the film back in the early 1980s. What times! This Batman movie needed a lot more money spent on it than just $1,600,000. The film plays more like an extended television episode on account of the plot being a bit thin. The pluses outnumber the minuses though. The gallery of supervillains is brilliant. If you are going to include any villains, it must be the Joker, the Penguin, the Catwoman and the Riddler. Lee Meriwether is a good Catwoman but she isn't in the same league as Julie Newmar. I've no idea why she wasn't in the film. Adam West stated in an interview many years later that he was rather reluctant in making the film. The reason he gave, was that he was becoming exhausted with the gruelling schedule of the television show. I'm glad he did though, otherwise the film wouldn't have been the same. That also applies to Burt Ward. There is plenty in the way of laughs and action. My favourite fight scenes, are the ones where Bruce Wayne fights his way out of captivity and when Batman and Robin take on all the villains onboard the submarine. Great fun!
Eric Stevenson I have never seen the Adam West Batman show but know that it has become legendary for how silly it is and how entertaining it was in its goofiness. Having at least known a little about the show, I was very eager to watch this and I was not disappointed. I guess it appealed to me because it's very 1960's. It's just great to see all these actors together. Even though it doesn't take itself seriously, this really isn't a disgrace to Batman at all. The superheroes play it fairly straight given how goofy their environments are. Even the shark repellent has some relevance to the plot.It was great just watching all the little things from the show show up. I liked seeing those written sound effects near the end. The gag where they climb up a building with a guest star was included as well. Everyone is camping it up and doing their hammy best in this delightfully silly and colorful movie. This was the first Batman movie ever made and it's hard not to enjoy something that's so silly but never to the point where it gets annoying. Is it one of the best Batman movies? No, but it includes all the goofiness from the show and even has a nice little moral about not wanting to alter people's beliefs at the end. ***
