This is a short done in the Mister Magoo series released by UPA Studios. There will be mild spoilers ahead: This Mister Magoo is fairly entertaining, with Magoo being, well, Magoo, in mystery mode. He's reading a "whodunit" when his nephew comes in asking for $100 because he's totaled Magoo's car and wants to buy another one.Magoo refuses to give him the money, but becomes concerned that Waldo will do something criminal to raise the money, so he follows Waldo. Magoo even dons a "disguise" which doesn't really serve as much of a disguise.Magoo even thinks Waldo's in trouble, just as Waldo is on the point of winning a great deal more than $100 on a quiz show. Magoo "rescues" from the dreadful fate of becoming rich and they wind up having an adventure of sorts, Magoo style. When all is said and done, Magoo decides to give Waldo the $100 and fun was had by all, except Waldo. This short, along with all the Magoo theatricals from UPA, is now out on DVD from Shout! Factory. The set is well worth getting and this short is very good in its own right. Recommended.
