Titreenp SERIOUSLY. This is what the crap Hollywood still puts out?
Brendon Jones It’s fine. It's literally the definition of a fine movie. You’ve seen it before, you know every beat and outcome before the characters even do. Only question is how much escapism you’re looking for.
Celia A great movie, one of the best of this year. There was a bit of confusion at one point in the plot, but nothing serious.
Geraldine The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.
Michael Ledo Frank (Danny Trejo) and Bernie (Danny Glover) travel to Louisiana to attend the wedding of Carmen (Loni Love), beating up guys half they age and twice their size along the way. Danny Glover, who drinks, has had a liver transplant, and doesn't run. Carmen's dad (John Amos) is a Vietnam War vet so guess how that enters the film. Carmen is kidnapped, the sheriff who doesn't want to help in a town "just a tad bigger than Mayberry" becomes quickly a suspect in a film that would not qualify as a mystery. Mom begs our "Bad Asses" to find Carmen and the film goes through the motions of cliches and formula writing. Just tell me you didn't see the watch thing coming. You don't have to have seen the other two films to watch this one, although I think this film would only serve the fans of the series as the writing is mindless formula fun as old guys beat up young guys and oh yea, they have to go to the proverbial strip club to find them. This film is a soft 4 stars for the fans of series. It is everything you expect, but not much more.Guide: F-bomb. Stripper nudity.
Mischief810 I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. The title alone should tell you what to expect: a silly, entertaining flick with plenty of action that also brings belly laugh after belly laugh. Danny Trejo and Danny Glover are chemistry on screen. John Amos and Loni Love square out a very good cast, with Ms. Love nearly stealing the show.If you liked the first two installments of the Badass franchise, you will absolutely love this one. If this is your first encounter with Frank And Bernie and you're expecting something taut and serious, then... well... look at the title again. This is Craig Moss really settling into the franchise and kicking it into high gear. Though billed here at IMDb as an action/crime flick, the franchise is built on a comedic foundation and Bayou delivers. I hope a Badass 4 is in the works, because like the Expendables and Fast and Furious franchises, this must go on. Bayou is appropriately paced, well directed, well acted and side- splittingly funny. Enjoy!
MartinHafer This is the third Bad Ass film and the second that co-stars Danny Glover along with Danny Trejo, who is the star of all three movies. It's a rather slow-motion action film, with two over the hill tough guys taking on a gang in Louisiana. It's all very silly and far from a must-see film, but if you set your expectations low and just want some mindless entertainment, it's not bad. This film begins well. Two grumpy old friends, Frank and Bernie (Trejo and Glover) are in a bank trying to work out a loan. However, it's interrupted by an attack by some armed robbers--and the two old geezers manage to take them out with style. Soon, the two become an internet sensation and are minor local heroes in L.A.. They soon are invited on an all-expense paid trip to Baton Rouge to go to a wedding. Once there, however, an armed group of intruders kidnap the bride-to-be and it's up to Frank and Bernie to kick butt and demand answers since it appears that the local cops couldn't care less about the abduction. What follows is a rather predictable and ridiculous adventure. The dialog is occasionally pretty silly and there isn't a lot to love about this one unless you are fans of Trejo and are also willing to cut the film slack when it comes to the fighting. After all, it's hard to believe either of these geriatric heroes taking on big, tough gang members (especially Glover)...yet again and again, they SLOWLY take out everyone who comes near them. You'll just need to suspend disbelief about all this. Not a terrible film by any standard but certainly not one to rush to rent now that it's debuted on Netflix.
bbickley13-921-58664 Machete was not enough for the legendary Danny Trejo, he needed another franchise and he got it with Bad Ass.Trejo returns as Frank Vega, a badge-less old Mexican version of John McClaine who cleans up his hood the best way he knows how...by kicking bad guy butt.Joining him once again is "too old for this sh*t", Danny Glover, who proves you don't want to mess with old, cranky and don't give a...Exploiting her viable (yet small) star power at the moment The Real's Loni Love, who had a small part in the second Bad Ass, becomes the center of attention as the Bad Asses attend her wedding only to have to rescue the bride from a kidnapping.Changing the scenery of the last two movies from LA, the Bad Asses go to the popular filming location of Louisiana were they bring West Coast Justice to a corrupt small time on the Bayou.Adding to the Bad Ass family is John Amos as a Vietnam vet trying to live his life as a billionaire pacifist, until the wrong men messed with his family (Just as bass ass as it sounds) A vast improvement over the other two movies, Bad Asses on the Bayou keeps with the momentum of the popularity of the first two movies and uses a bigger budget just to improve on what has already been done. Unlike Taken 3, it does not try to be better than the b-action movie that started it and which everyone loves. Unlike the Expendables, who are also one step closer to the geriatric home, they did not need over the top theatrical action sequences to prove just because your old, doesn't mean you can't be a Bass Ass.And nothing says Bad Ass like Danny Trejo. It was a fun ride old men. go check it out.
