Clay Beresford is wealthy, young and in love. He also needs a new heart. After a spur-of-the-moment wedding to his fiancée, Sam, he undergoes heart transplant, with the chief surgeon his friend, Dr Jack Harper. However, the anesthetic has a strange effect on him, paralyzing him but not putting him to sleep. The surgical team are not aware of this and continue with the operation. They also reveal that they intend to murder him...Reasonably novel idea - man tries to fight off would-be murderers while paralyzed and undergoing heart transplant surgery - but poorly developed. Plot is unengaging and ridiculously far-fetched. It is also very padded - many scenes that are clearly just filler - and random.Direction doesn't help, adding to the random mess with badly thought-out dream sequences and out-of-body experiences. To crown it all, performances are so-so, bordering on irritating.Despite the shortness of the movie, not worth your time.

"Awake" was an incredible thriller that had me captivated from start to finish. An emotional roller-coaster ride the whole time with plot twist after plot twist. Hayden Christensen excelled in his role of the conscious, paralyzed billionaire philanthropist undergoing heart surgery. Coupled with Alba, you are left mesmerized by the events unfolding in front of your eyes. The impressive directing and acting makes you feel as though you are in the OR with the characters. The only thing in question are the camera angles, movement, etc. they are made to seem as though he is in a dream state. Does it work? I believe so, but others seem to think it doesn't. But that is up to your own preferences I guess.I would definitely recommend. I just wish it was longer, you will understand once you watch it.Be sure to steer clear of spoilers because it will completely ruin it for you.

This is my first review on the IMDb, sorry if my English is not good. i just watched this movie and in the end i am totally surprised. After a long time i watched so exiting movie like this, i never wrote any review before but this movie made me write the review about this.. What i like in this movie that you will find a great thriller, original story, no boring part at all and most of the all the surprising twist in the end. I will definitely suggest this movie to all of you and i will also suggest this movie to all my friends and tomorrow i will watch this movie with my mother there is a reason for this you'll know when you'll watch this movie. So my review is getting long so i am ending my review and just want to say that go watch this movie you'll love this like i did and this is now one of the best movies I've ever seen..

If you read any other review about this movie, than just give up and watch something else. If you know something that can spoil you the watching of this movie, than don't watch it. This is not the type of a movie that you can just ask somebody how was it. You need to build your own opinion about this one. For me it was a movie with a good story, and actors did they job well. Especially the main character. I didn't expect Hayden Christensen to be this good, but hi did. And the Jessica Alba wasn't bad either. Actually those two are a good acting couple, they fit. Everything was on it's place, and I think that this one deserves a good review. Go watch it, and prove me wrong.
