Armored Audience Reviews

WillSushyMedia This movie was so-so. It had it's moments, but wasn't the greatest.
Salubfoto It's an amazing and heartbreaking story.
Hadrina The movie's neither hopeful in contrived ways, nor hopeless in different contrived ways. Somehow it manages to be wonderful
Phillipa Strong acting helps the film overcome an uncertain premise and create characters that hold our attention absolutely.
mo24777 If you liked 'Training Day' you will love this movie. In the day and age when money conflicts with morality, a couple of money transporters decide they want to TAKE the take. The story brings elements from character abilities to bring a realistic sense of flowing action. I really enjoyed this film. Even though it might seem that the main characters actions are too ballsy, it raises the awareness of human morality and how certain external circumstances can have an affect on people. I might over exaggerate about how good the movie may be, but I was surprised, even though it started off with great actors 'Lawerence Fishburne' 'Matt Dillon' you don't always expect great actors to make great films which is what I thought at first when it started, but each cast member played a great designated role.
cattrelc Here's the thing. This movie is not great. The character development is lacking and the story is fairly simple. However, I felt that the acting was quite good and the dramatic elements of the plot came through nicely. In an era of special effects in the place of content, this was a refreshing change of pace. There were a lot of things that could have been added that would have made this a much better film but overall I came away with a positive feeling. Giving the characters more depth and more motivation would have been helpful as well as showing us a few more aspects of their lives and what compelled them to come up with their plan. Also, a few of the actors were too young for their roles (they were supposed to be friends with the leads father but were actually his age.) Still, this was a lot better than some of the other drivel that passes for "action/thriller" movies these days.
Max Pinto Well..with a pretty good cast comprised of Laurence Fishburne (who manages to be a bad ass in every film, thereby making it entertaining)Jean Reno (whom I've always liked) Matt Dillon (who actually wasn't half bad!) Amaury Nolasco (the lovable Sucre from Prison Break) and Skeet Ulrich (The "a little less lovable" Jake Green from Jericho), I actually thought this film would be fun and explosive with a gun fights and lots of swearing (typical guy film)...instead its just plain boring...OK..the tension builds up at the very start when you know something is about to go wrong...and of course it does...but in such a wimpy way!! Ty(Colombus Short) chickens out after Sociopath Baines(Fishburne) and Family Friend Mike(Dillon) kill a homeless guy who's been spying on them execute their "foolproof" plan. So, being the empathic Iraq War Vet everyone hates, Ty locks himself in the armored van with 21 million dollars and tries to escape, ready to blow the whistle....long story short, the others pin Ty down and try and whack the hinges to the door off....in the meantime Ty (who seems be more resourceful than Bear Grylls and McGuyver put together) tries to escape, resulting in turning Dobbs (Ulrich) forcing Palmer(Nolasco) to commit suicide, causing a cop to get shot and then saving him, blowing up Baines and Quinn(Reno) and out running an enraged Dillon who tries to run him down in the van...it seems however that Ty was blessed by Speedy Gonzales and given super speed. BORING! The location is always the same: a crappy warehouse, and most of the time you have people banging on hinges. Of the cast no one performed brilliantly as there is so little to work with....but I found that Matt Dillon pulled off a very surprising bad guy, going from understanding to completely berserk, and Amaury Nolasco, who also goes berserk at Ty and then jumps off a roof(the only time he actually shines). Also Laurence Fishburne is rather likable as his character... the script was rather boring, clichéd and predictable, halfway in I could already tell who would die and in what order...(and I was right, by the way). All in all I was terribly disappointed. Good Cast, bad story, sloppy execution. I know its a guy film but some of us guys require a little more than this...4 out of 10 sorry
Kristen Mallard Call me the minority, but I loved this film. All the plot holes aside, I though this was well made, suspenseful and well acted. Columbus Short and Matt Dillion both gave very good performances. Laurnece Fishburne also did a great job. I thought Jean Reno was underused. Some of the characters weren't super well developed, but they were interesting enough. They kept my interest. I thought it mixed action, suspense, and drama together quite well. I also enjoyed the fact that Matt Dillion and the others weren't criminal masterminds. In fact, their plan was pretty flawed, which I thought was realistic and interesting. The endings not totally satisfied, but overall, though not perfect, I thought that this film was fun and very well made. It's no Reservoir Dogs, but it's still exciting. Very bloody for a pg13. A very dark and gritty feel, but for me personally, it was never dull, never stupid, never a waste. I really enjoyed it. You just gotta suspend disbelief with some of the plot holes.
