The land is rich with coal, yet its residents are denied adequate food, housing, or medical care. This, the Appalachian region, was the nation's first designated poverty area. This film focuses upon Eastern Kentucky where mechanization of the mines is replacing people and jobs. Bea Swanson This film is so real. It treats its characters with so much care and sensitivity.
Arianna Moses Let me be very fair here, this is not the best movie in my opinion. But, this movie is fun, it has purpose and is very enjoyable to watch.
