Ameta Audience Reviews

Lawbolisted Powerful
Crwthod A lot more amusing than I thought it would be.
Portia Hilton Blistering performances.
Deanna There are moments in this movie where the great movie it could've been peek out... They're fleeting, here, but they're worth savoring, and they happen often enough to make it worth your while.
Michael_Elliott Ameta (1903)This serpentine dance features the title performer who twirls around for just over thirty seconds. Yes, this is another "dance" picture, which really does seem to have been the most popular thing for movie companies to produce back in the day. It's really amazing to see how many different once were made and as we know, Hollywood or early producers would only deliver what the people wanted. This one here really doesn't have anything ground-breaking to it or even anything that makes it stand out. It's worth watching once if you're a fan of these early films but others should probably look for something else.
JoeytheBrit Ten lines, eh? This is going to be a challenge. The film only lasts a scant 30 seconds, although it may be a fragment of a longer film which featured four dances. Either way, it is simply a filmed record of a fan dancer performing a dance using two white sheets suspended from poles which she frantically twirls around herself to create a succession of patterns. The effect is actually quite mesmerising and probably required no small measure of strength on the part of the dancer, but the act would no doubt become a little dull after a minute or two. Definitely worth watching once though, if only for its curiosity value.
