Lack of good storyline.

Excellent, a Must See

At first rather annoying in its heavy emphasis on reenactments, this movie ultimately proves fascinating, simply because the complicated, highly dramatic tale it tells still almost defies belief.

It is an exhilarating, distressing, funny and profound film, with one of the more memorable film scores in years,

Well, let me just rephrase that a bit. A definite contender for the worst major film ever produced. There certainly have been worse films, but generally only those made by virtual amateurs on independent budgets or fly-by-night film studios. From 1994's "Speed" through 2007's "The Proposal", Sandra Bullock was one of my favorite actresses. And then this film came out, and sense then I haven't watched any of her newer films. For me, she simply lost the golden touch.I have to admit that it doesn't help that her co-star here is Bradley Cooper...never one of my favorites. Thomas Haden Church...this is a professional actor? Ken Jeong...way overrated. DJ Qualls as Howard is interesting here...a quirky actor that brings something interesting to many of his roles. Katy Mixon was pretty good. And it was interesting to see Howard Hesseman as Bullock's character's father. The plot here actually seemed to have potential -- a slightly weird young woman begins stalking an imagined lover. Okay. That could be funny. But this director attacked the film as if he was on meth. Waaaaaaaaaaaay over the top...and that's what ruined the film. No wonder this was a popular Raspberry award winner.I don't say this often...but I wish I hadn't watched this film.

# 1 Across. Hottest Woman Ever - 13 letters - SANDRABULLOCKClearly. Sandy Bullock is hilarious. She also is super duper cute in All About Steve. I love her hair color, and her brightly colored skimpy outfits, and her pretty makeup, and her beautiful blue eyes, and her stunning white smile, and her pretty pink lips, and her perky sweet breasts, and her sexy red boots, and her sexy red bra, and her sexy short skirt, and her sexy hot legs, and her cutesy cutesy personality, and her free spirited attitude, and her intense passion, and her shades, and her eyebrows, and her nose, and her bangs, and her smarts, and her quirkiness, and her purse, and her umbrella, and her taste in men, and her job, and her hamster, and her sense of humor, and her parents, and her friends, and her checks, I forgot about her cheeks, and her perfect perspective, and her....

In case you didn't know, Sandra Bullock was nominated for 'Worst Actress' at the annual 'Razzie' awards for her performance in 'All About Steve.' She even bucked tradition and went to the ceremony to accept it. That is how well the film is generally thought of - as one of the worst you could watch that year.So why did the usually bankable and charming Ms Bullock come a cropper with this one? Well, she does actually play her usual, i.e. charming self. The film was marketed as a typical kooky comedy which she is known for. However, instead of being lovable, she's annoying, or rather deliberately annoying. Her character, although being intelligent, seems to have difficulty picking up on other people's non verbal communications. In many ways (and this is NEVER addressed in the movie) she shares some traits with aspergers sufferers. Therefore, she openly stalks a man who she believes is really her soul mate.Yes, there are some funny moments on the way, but, in a film where you expect to be rooting for Sandra, you find yourself sympathising with everyone BUT her! This is Sandra Bullock's 'The Cable Guy,' i.e. a film where a normally comic actor chooses to deliberately mix things up by playing a much darker version of what they're normally known for.The ending is a bit predictable (and somewhat unrealistic), but, if you can forgive that, plus realise that you're not actually going to like Sandra Bullock's character that much in this one, then you could just sit back and enjoy it for being quite an entertaining satire on the American news networks. Not great, but definitely not the worst film ever made either.
