Boring, over-political, tech fuzed mess

it is the rare 'crazy' movie that actually has something to say.

The story, direction, characters, and writing/dialogue is akin to taking a tranquilizer shot to the neck, but everything else was so well done.

One of the best movies of the year! Incredible from the beginning to the end.

Spoiler warning.... This is an absolute waste of time...Script writer tries to fool the audience from the beginning to the ending of the film. At the end of the movie,Cydney, one of the murderers, was not arrested. The other stupid couple who survived from being killed even did not report the police that Cydney was also a murderer...As if she was not the one of the murderers...What?....What the hell is that?...

A Perfect Getaway is living proof that a famous cast DOES NOT make a good movie. This is a really dull, lifeless movie which keeps the viewer under the illusion that at some point in time, something exciting is going to happen, but it never does. I watched about two thirds of A Perfect Getaway, and gave up because it got SO boring. I always see movies through to the end, even when I'm not particularly enjoying them, but for this one I felt obliged to make an exception. If you want almost two hours of literally nothing, go right ahead and watch this. But if you like movies in which stuff actually happens, do yourself a favour and get away, seriously.

This movie definitely works. It's paced well and keeps you guessing. When the twist comes, I was genuinely surprised. It's a pretty simple movie that works because of a well thought out story and a solid script. With those things in order, a movie always has a good chance of working. The other elements of the movie were pretty solid over all but nothing special. I wasn't impressed with the cinematography. It's okay, but could have been better and much more creative and artistic, especially in such a scenic location. The acting was okay, and the cast mostly worked, but I could see other actors bringing another dimension to the roles. My main complain, and this is mostly a directorial thing, but also editing and cinematography, was after the big reveal, it cut to flashbacks that explain the story, which went on way too long in my opinion. It gets the job done, but I could see it done in a cooler way.Overall, it's a movie that works, but with a more creative director, it could have been really great. Instead, the director got the job done effectively, but didn't really stylize it in a notable way.Definitely a movie worth watching. You probably don't need to own it or watch it over and over, but the first viewing will make for good solid entertainment.

For a film riddled with flaws somehow it still holds up as a pretty good and entertaining movie. The acting is decent enough especially from Steve Zahn (Cliff) who is the most believable character in the film. The plot has more holes in it than a paper mache bullet proof vest; but you will forgive that as the action is very well done, some of the slash, smash and cut scene's are some of the best (realistic) I have seen apart from the lack of blood. The camera work is strange but good and it holds as a twisting thriller. For the cheese fans it has some exhibits of the famous melt but isn't a meltbuster, the plot in itself could easily pass as cheese and Timothy Olyphant (Nick) is a possible nominee for cheese of the year. By no means the greatest film ever made or even close but well worth the watch you won't be disappointed, you'll give out about the plot but will soon forgive.Rating: 6.5/10. Cheeseometer: 9.75/50
