This beautiful and light-hearted legend from 14th century is not based on truth, but - does it matter? As good king Charles IV. said in this movie: "Nobody will believe that in the age of the Father of this land was not allowed to women to come to Karlštejn castle." As usual in Czech movies, the actors are excellent (especially Brodský as Charles) Maybe you are used to see very wistful and serious historical films (like Polish people do), but Night on Karlštejn is a musical - and very good musical. So - why check it out? Sit down with your girlfriend or boyfriend, wife of husband and wait for the song of the queen (in English is the lyrics deeper romantic) and then... kiss your darling.
