Paris, 1910. Emile, a shy movie projectionist, and Raoul, a colourful inventor, find themselves embarked on the hunt for a monster terrorizing citizens. They join forces with Lucille, the big-hearted star of the Bird of Paradise cabaret, an eccentric scientist and his irascible monkey to save the monster, who turns out to be an oversized but harmless flea, from the city's ruthlessly ambitious police chief.

A Monster in Paris Audience Reviews

Redwarmin This movie is the proof that the world is becoming a sick and dumb place
Tedfoldol everything you have heard about this movie is true.

Neive Bellamy Excellent and certainly provocative... If nothing else, the film is a real conversation starter.
paulclaassen Fabulous! What a gem of a film! Action, adventure, suspense, fun, music and entertainment wrapped in a timeless masterpiece. Thoroughly entertaining!(Only had two issues: what was the purpose of the Monster being able to sing if he only plays the guitar? Why can't he talk if he can sing?)
quirkyblonde I found this film while cruising Netflix. I'm fond of 3-D animated films and decided to watch it on a whim. I wasn't disappointed. The beginning is a bit slow, but once it gets going it's a wonderful story! I especially enjoyed the music, the vocals by Sean Lennon and Vanessa Paradis are haunting and lovely. The overriding theme of the film is to not judge someone by their appearance. There are monsters among us every day, and they can hide behind a handsome face. A good lesson for us all. Overall, I'd say the film was a charming surprise! I definitely recommend it!
richieandsam MONSTER IN Paris. It was good.I like animated films and am in particular a big Disney fan. Now this film is not made by Disney, but is still pretty good. The story is about a scientist's equipment being messed about with and a flea from a monkey gets enlarged and goes roaming around Paris. But when it turns out that the flea has a good singing voice, he makes a few friends and must escape the people trying to catch him and kill him.The story is pretty good and the animation is also really well done. As most other cartoon movies, there are some songs in it, but they are good too. I thought there was one song in particular that was really catchy.I watched this with my 11 year old daughter and my girlfriend. My daughter liked it a lot, but my girlfriend thought it was average at best. There are some really funny parts in the film which made us all laugh out loud too.At no point in the movie were any of us bored or distracted from it. It kept us glued to the screen.I will give this film a 7 out of 10.This is a great family film and even though it's not as good as some other animated films, such as Despicable Me, most of the Disney classics etc, it is still a great movie to watch with the kids or even alone. For more reviews please like my Facebook page:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ordinary-Person-Movie- Reviews/456572047728204?ref=hl
thekarmicnomad I have never seen any French animation before (it never occurred to me it existed) so I was not sure what to expect with this; Something overly arty I think. But this is a great movie. The voices are very good and the animation, although CGI, is quaint and pleasing to the eye.The main differences I found between this and the big Disney titles is the in-your-face-factor. In Disney you get big belting 'Just around the river-bend' numbers; here you get a more sophisticated, more unusual medley of quirky, but very good jazz type pieces. The same with the animation, it is all very sedate and in places very beautiful. There is lots of action but not the fast moving bright colours and grand set pieces of what I am used to.This all sat very well with me and made for excellent viewing. But if you (or your kids)are used to big, bold animation this will either come as a refreshing change or a bit of a let down.I would recommend risking it.
