A Life in Waves Audience Reviews

Griff Lees Very good movie overall, highly recommended. Most of the negative reviews don't have any merit and are all pollitically based. Give this movie a chance at least, and it might give you a different perspective.
Bessie Smyth Great story, amazing characters, superb action, enthralling cinematography. Yes, this is something I am glad I spent money on.
Cassandra Story: It's very simple but honestly that is fine.
Kimball Exactly the movie you think it is, but not the movie you want it to be.
gavin6942 "A Life in Waves" explores the life and innovations of composer and electronic music pioneer, Suzanne Ciani. While not an expert on electronic music, I consider myself a fan. I know about Theremin, Moog, Throbbing Gristle, Tangerine Dream and others. The name Suzanne Ciani is not one that I was familiar with. Having now seen this, and seen how important she was to video games, commercials, and music, I have to wonder how she is not a larger figure in modern history. There is one thing I would like to make clear. Ciani may be hailed as a "female" pioneer. For example, there is part of the film where she receives an award for women who have achieved great things. But while this may be true, I think it sells her short. She is a pioneer, period. Not simply among women, but among any group of electronic musicians. Her influence is wider than many others who may be better known. The film screened at the Boston Underground Film Festival (BUFF) on March 26 and I expect it will be picked up for distribution, possibly by Netflix. This is definitely a must-see for anyone who loves the history of music, electronics, or both.
