In truth, there is barely enough story here to make a film.

Through painfully honest and emotional moments, the movie becomes irresistibly relatable

The tone of this movie is interesting -- the stakes are both dramatic and high, but it's balanced with a lot of fun, tongue and cheek dialogue.

I'll start by saying that I've always found Jason Lee to be funny and that is honestly why I even watched this...BUT...
He was the one I was most irritated by in this flick, don't get me wrong, the movie in itself was funny in many parts, but I found Jason Lees character to be too spineless...I mean, who the hell voluntarily climbs into a dumpster, after being told to by some moron who hasn't even got a weapon pointed at him?! And that was just one of the many scenes where he showed himself as a pushover.
He did provide a few funny scenes, but not nearly as many as I expected.
It seemed to be centered on far more silly scenes and some felt a little forced. His parents, while funny in parts...were a little too 'big' which to me, isn't funny!
Selma Blair played a character I've seen her play a few times, so I wasn't unimpressed by her, but I also wasn't blown away by her either.
I didn't feel the chemistry between Jason Lee and Julia Stiles, like at all. I knew the predictability of the storyline, that he was going to realize he liked her, but I didn't feel the chemistry between them...even the kiss at the end was buzz free!
I'm a fan of Jason Lee, Shawn Hatosy and Julia Stiles...but I wasn't loving this flick!

The tale of your average joe having to endure the worst week of his life leading up to his wedding. Sleeping with someone on his stag do, Crabs, Cousins, Moonlighting cooks using dope as a spice, A stalker jealous cop, a brother who fancies the bride to be...Jason lee is superb as he crashes from one disaster to the next. I really enjoyed this movie and I might add as much as some IMDb have slagged off Sophia Myles I thought she was quite good. The complete opposite to the girl jason lee's character is going to marry might be one of those I know whats coming movies but it does enough with the humour and events to differ from the others enough. After a pants day at work with a curry and a bottle of wine it was bang on :)

With a decent cast, there should be something in this movie, but no, it fails to make the most of almost every situation. the jokes are few and far between, and most of the time you ask yourself - I should be laughing at this, but I am not. A remake of 'There's Something About Mary' is what is being attempted in tenor and style, but it just keeps failing. Jason Lee from TV can forget the big screen (it has certainly not let him back again since this was made!), while Julia Stiles and Selma Blair are going through the motions well enough as repeats of their characters from 'Ten Things..' and 'Legally Blonde.' But where was the snap and dazzle to make the most of the situation and characters - I mean how do you make mediocre when a groom wakes up with a strange girl in his bed after his bachelor party? probably most of it lies with Jason Lee, who is not Jack Lemmon or Michael J Fox, who fails to do anything with the farcical proceedings on screen. OTT comedy at times mixed with RomCom and it falls between both stools. Dire at times, but it drifts along!!!

It was interesting all right i watched it but can't say i ever got too into it. Julia styles was quirky and funny as she was in most of her movies, but whatever happened to her? I am personally a Jason Lee fan but this movie just kind of fell short to the standards i have for him. I'm a little bit tired of the overplayed guy making a mistake and cheating scenario although in this one you find out he didn't actually cheat ( good for you Jason Lee). The cast was full of recognizable faces though i couldn't give you their names I've seen them all before. If it's a rainy day and there's nothing better to do then watch movies then sure go ahead and give this one a try but if it comes down to a decision between helping your friend move and watching this movie then tell your friend you'll be right there.
