47 Meters Down Audience Reviews

SpunkySelfTwitter It’s an especially fun movie from a director and cast who are clearly having a good time allowing themselves to let loose.
Hayleigh Joseph This is ultimately a movie about the very bad things that can happen when we don't address our unease, when we just try to brush it off, whether that's to fit in or to preserve our self-image.
Quiet Muffin This movie tries so hard to be funny, yet it falls flat every time. Just another example of recycled ideas repackaged with women in an attempt to appeal to a certain audience.
Allissa .Like the great film, it's made with a great deal of visible affection both in front of and behind the camera.
tresm87 6.8/10 A solid shark thriller with some genuinely well executed suspenseful sequences and a somewhat unexpected ambitious ending. The cgi sharks i thought looked very well and were utilized properly and the underwater environment was portrayed marvelously. At times Moore and Holt are extremely cliche and annoying but honestly thats the main downfall and this is quite underrated.
Mateus Ribeiro One doesn't have to be a genius to realize there is no logic behind this movie. A cable for cages that can't handle a cage. A boat for cages that can't support a cage - for absolutely no reason. Two newbie girls left alone in the cage. A shark that won't reach a human swimming in 1 second. Please. Don't waste your time/money on this crap.
kitellis-98121 A solid, easy to watch shark-attack movie. Not without its flaws, but mostly ones of the sort that won't bother non-dive experts. This stands up well alongside such films as The Reef, The Shallows, Open Water, Black Water, Rogue, Frozen, and the like.CG sharks have pretty much been cracked now, and so has underwater blue-screen, so there's not much in the VFX to distract the viewer from all the typical cat-scares required of the genre.Nicely shot, with good light and good lenses on the surface, and chopped broccoli (no lie) in the tank to add particulates to the underwater scenes. Overall, it works pretty well. The film looks slick and professional throughout. The script, as is often the case with these type of films, is the weakest link, closely followed by the acting. However, nothing about it is bad. Just not great.Unusually for a film in this genre the running time is respectable; none of the usual 75 minutes malarkey that leaves you feeling short-changed. And unlike most films in the genre, this one doesn't fill half its running time with boring and poorly executed setting-up (padding) at the beginning. It jumps straight in, so to speak, and fills almost the full 90 minutes with actual story and action. This alone makes it stand out. However, despite its many good qualities and general lack of failings (apart from factual errors which can be ignored in the interest of drama), there is one rather unforgivable blemish which somewhat spoils the whole experience, and that is the ending, which is weak, contrived, and entirely unsatisfying. Trying hard to avoid spoilers, I'd say that the film would be vastly improved by ending it on the surface, rather than what happened afterwards. But maybe that's just me. Overall, though, a very enjoyable addition to the genre.
jacob larsen God this movie scared me so much. Really terrified the insides out of me.Damn, that doesn't happen often.I just watched it and it was deeply moving. And the ending... I had a struggle not to tear up there.Vision and sound is spot on. The sound-track works fantastic with the scenery and events (I listened in headphones, which I would recommend, or a very good sound-system playing it loud (To let the claustrophobia come really through))The story was sensible. No nonsense. It worked.Cinematography perfect. One of the best movies I have seen in years.Truly scared me. And moved me.I give it 9 out of 10 and recommend this movie fully.(Damn, I'm still shaking uncontrollably)Seriously amazing film.
