Did you people see the same film I saw?

It's funny watching the elements come together in this complicated scam. On one hand, the set-up isn't quite as complex as it seems, but there's an easy sense of fun in every exchange.

I'm a young Armenian man. I heard of this film because Serj Tankian did the score. Didn't know what to expect. I wanted to expect a live-action movie which reenacted the genocide, much like Schindler's List...however, this told a powerful, unexpected story through a bold parallel which delved deep into the psychology of what took place, how we feel about it as Armenians, and offered a gut-wrenching, heart- breaking yet hopeful path toward letting go, and possibly, moving on. The ending brought me to tears in an emotional crescendo. I felt the pain of the characters and what they faced. It's what we all face in our own way as Armenians. Live in the past, or move forward. Neither is without sacrifice.

I would have given this movie an 8 or 9 out of 10, except that this movie is SO underrated that I have to give it a 10. What's not to like? Simon Abkarian proves once and for all that he is a powerful, multi-faceted leading man. Meanwhile, Angela Sarafyan is stunning and hypnotic. Why aren't these actors getting props? Sam Page plays his role exactly as he needs to, while Nikolai Kinski reaches for the moon and lands among the stars for sure. One more thing: the theater is GORGEOUS. And Leigh Underwood's photography is just as beautiful and elegant as the theatre. A wonderful movie, if you like this kind of movie. If you don't, then why are you watching it anyway?

Confusing to some, but for those who avoid simple solutions and want to see the full complexity of history in action -- one of the best indie releases of the year. Highly recommend if you want a smart thriller and not just entertainment! Simon Abkarian has a masterful performance. Angela Sarafyan is powerful. There is some confusion and maybe an unnecessary plot line that I didn't quite connect to. But I'd rather not bring it up here. Overall a very strong movie, with a point off due to personal taste. It is sad that we have such a scarcity of Armenian Genocide movies. And one can only hope that more movies like this will be filmed, even as we wait for the great Armenian Genocide Epic Story.

this kind of deconstructionist lies and distorted view of the past from a fully biased point of view...it is only natural to assume that genocide is just a lie to mask the hypocrisy of the armenians who stabbed the Turkish people from the back while the turks were fighting for their country against the imperialists..armenians saw an opportunity and started to slaughter the Turkish villagers women and children (as evidenced in Turkey's archives, which the armenianss refuse to look at). and naturally Turkish government tried to move them from the area..if it were a genocide, it would not be uttered this late..THINK..algerians..indians..all of them were slaughtered massacred by west countries, exploited without a war out there..but it becomes genocide to try to move the old friend-new enemy to a secure place..
